Morning

Edinburgh to Perthshire

Leaving Edinburgh behind, we cross the mighty Firth of Forth, taking in views of the world-famous Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before continuing north through the lush green countryside of the Kingdom of Fife.

As you travel up north, the landscapes start changing and soon you see the forested glens of Perthshire.

There will be time for a wee break to stretch your legs in one of charming towns, before we continue the journey deeper into the Highlands.

Mid Morning

Highlands & lunch break

Your journey north is filled with classic Highland landscapes. You pass the broad peaks of Cairngorms National Park, and you’ll stop at several viewpoints to capture the beauty along the way. Sweeping moorland, sparkling lochs and rugged mountain ranges accompany you on your journey for a lunch break in one of the picturesque local towns in the heart of the Highlands.

Afterward, we’ll stop for a leisurely lunch in one of the picturesque local towns.

Afternoon

Glenfinnan Viaduct & journey through the Highlands

Next, you continue to Glenfinnan, a stunning glen nestled among mountains and overlooking Loch Shiel. It’s home to two icons – the Glenfinnan Monument and the Glenfinnan Viaduct, beloved by Harry Potter fans.

Here, you’ll have time to reflect on the Jacobite Uprising of 1745 and explore the monument. Keep an eye out for the Jacobite Steam Train, which occasionally puffs gracefully across the viaduct.
Back on the bus, you journey south to Glencoe. Known for its dramatic, rugged slopes, this beautiful area has been featured in films and has many stories to tell. Your driver-guide will share one of Scotland’s most tragic tales connected to this glen before you continue the journey through the Highlands.

Early Evening

Journey to Edinburgh

After experiencing some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Scottish Highlands, you begin your journey south, pausing at a beautiful loch framed by towering mountains. As the rugged peaks gradually give way to the gentler landscapes of the Lowlands, it's time to bid farewell to this remarkable region. Take a moment to reflect on the unforgettable sights, stories, and enduring magic of the Highlands as you make your way back to Edinburgh in the evening.
You return to Edinburgh at approximately 7.45pm.
