Important Information about your Accommodation on Tour

Your tour does not include accommodation in the price. By giving you a choice of accommodation it allows you to manage your budget. We stay in smaller places where you will feel closer to the local people. This also means you help to sustain the communities you visit in the long term. Choose from either a hotel, B&B or a hostel and we will book it for you. We will always do our very best to satisfy your personal requirements and have an amazing track record for providing our customers with the best quality accommodation available. We do advise that single supplements usually apply, particularly during peak season when double/twin room rates are charged for sole occupancy .Please note that whilst Rabbie’s will try and place single travellers into the same accommodation, this may not be possible due to availability and the time of each individual reservation.

The accommodation we use will be dispersed around various towns and villages, usually not more than a 10-15 minute walk from the centre. There are occasions however when this can be increased to 20-30 minutes. Taxis are available for a small fee if necessary. If you have access needs or specific requirements please let us know when booking. Late bookings and/or peak season may limit the choice and location of available accommodation.

Whilst on tour your driver/guide will drop you off at your pre booked accommodation* and pick you up each morning.

*Please note that if your accommodation has already been booked by Rabbie’s, as per your initial request, there will be a surcharge for any amendments, and are entirely at our discretion. Changes to accommodation cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability. A minimum of £5.00 will apply increasing to a maximum of £20.00 dependent on the length of the tour.

Please be prepared to pay cash. Most bed and breakfast, hostels and guest houses do not accept credit cards. In most large towns automatic cash point machines are readily available.

Customers are able to book their own accommodation as long as we have been informed that you intend to do this, and that it is within our drivers’ drop off’ area. If you are at all unsure please contact the office for guidance.

We are unable to supply a list of providers that we use due to availability at the time of booking. We do visit our providers regularly and are proud of the long standing relationships we have with them and positive feedback from previous customers.

Customer Reviews

I really enjoyed the tour! Our tour guide Sarah was super friendly and sweet. She provide us a lot of information about the places where we visited. The view of Cotswolds was amazing! I will definitely join more tours of Rabbies again.
KAYCEE CHENG - 30/08/2016

I had an amazing time on this trip thanks to our guides Sarah and John! The sights were great and paced well, I wish it could have been longer.
Mouktika - 09/07/2016

My friend and I enjoyed the tour with Jamie thoroughly. He took good care of all of us and was essential in providing a personal touch to the tour by taking time to speak to each of us and making sure we were comfortable. His funny commentaries gave a touch of humour to the informative talk about the different regions as well.
Jasmine F - 19/10/2015

Great first trip with Rabbies, I was excited to continue to use them when I arrived in Scotland. Glen did a great job despite a few minor hiccups that were out of his control. I had a great time while exploring this area with my best friend.

We had booked this tour on 30th Nov 2013. We were pleasantly surprised to find only another couple joining us on the trip. It was like a personalised tour with our very knowledgeable and cordial tour guide, Pete. We loved his anecdotes and the history he shared along the way. The weather was perfect for a day trip and we couldn't ask for more! This was our second tour with Rabbie's - the first one being from Edinburgh to the Scotland Highlands. Both were wonderful and we are hoping we can visit North and South Wales from London sometime soon!
Shrubabati - 10/12/2013

This is the third Rabbie's tour for me, and it's the second time that Kevin was my guide! How lucky I am! The tour itself is well scheduled, which makes you less tired while visiting many places at the same time. What you cannot miss in such a fabulous tour is a good guide , and that's why you should let Kevin be the one for you! Obviously, after the second tour, we are already good friends right now. He is a charming gentleman and we all love him so much! If you had any trouble with your trip or even your own life, just ask, he would always be there for you~Trust me, you are gonna miss him when you finish your tour~ If you are reading my review, do pick Rabbie's be your choice and do let Kevin be your guide because that is the way you could get an extremely fantastic tour of a lifetime! Love you, Rabbie's! Love you, Kevin!

How surprised was I when I turned up for my Rabbies tour (recommended to me by my duaghter) to find out I was the only person booked to go. My driver Ambrose told me that it was Rabbies policy to still run the tour even if there was only one participant so off we went!! I had the whole bus, could ask tons of questions, sit up the front and Ambrose and I hit it off immediately. To land in another country on your own is often daunting but not with Ambrose who immediately made me feel at home and was so courteous and knowledgeable. We had a great time touring about and the scenery was breathtaking. The whole time I had my own personal commentary about whatever I needed to know. My B & B experience was also excellent and so much better than I expected. I would definitely book another Rabbies tour and would look for one with Ambrose as he was brilliant!
Beckyrobz - 22/02/2013

I did the Cotswolds, Bath & Oxford two day tour on 10 October 2012 and just wanted to say what a wonderful tour guide Kevin was - and a safe driver! He catered to every need, very knowledgeable and a great communicator. He is a an asset to Rabbies company. It made for a wonderful trip. Will recommend to all my friends back in Australia.
Lynda Harwood - 12/10/2012

Thank-you Ambrose for a wonderful tour. I appreciated your knowledge of all the areas we visited. I had enough time in each town to really look around. Oxford was magnificent!

Full Itinerary (English)

Day 1

Leaving the great city of London behind us today we head west. We arrive at the pretty village of Avebury. Here we will be able to wander amidst the largest stone circle in the world - part of a World Heritage Site. Nearby is also the site of the Cherhill White Horse, which was cut out of the chalk hillside in 1780. Not far from here, set in rural Wiltshire, is Lacock village, famous for its picturesque streets, historic buildings and its more recent role as a television and film location. The Abbey, located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds, is a quirky country house of various architectural styles. We spend some time in the afternoon in Bath, full of relics of its Roman past and of course its famous Bath. From here we continue to Cirencester, set in the heart of the Cotswolds, which is so quintessentially English. Cirencester was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times!

Day 2

We will discover some more of the Cotswold scenery and villages. You will see some outstanding countryside with river valleys, water meadows and beech woods, sleepy ancient limestone villages and historic market towns, famous for being ‘typically English’, where time has stood still for over 300 years.

Our visits will include Bibury a picturesque village with many of the traditional features unique to this area. Next stop will be Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds and packed with charming traditional houses. On route to Oxford we make a stop in Bampton, the village that features in many episodes of the worldwide hit TV series Downton Abbey. Later in the afternoon we visit Oxford, renowned for over 900 year as a centre of academic excellence. Discover at your own pace the college courtyards, unspoilt narrow alleys and the historic town square. Harry Potter fans might want to see Christ Church, where many scenes from the films have been shot. The grandeur of the Great Hall has formed the basis of Hogwarts Hall!

Later that day we return to London arriving at approx.7pm.
