What our customers say about our Cotswolds guided tours

Where are the Cotswolds?

The Cotswolds roll across south-central England, around two hours' drive west of London. The hills stretch roughly 90 miles from near Bath in the south, spilling into six counties including Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire. It's the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England.

What are the Cotswolds famous for?

Historically, the Cotswolds were famous for wool. In medieval times, Cotswold sheep made local merchants rich, and they spent it on grand "wool churches" and golden limestone houses that still stand today. These days the region is loved for its cozy gastro pubs, country inns, and local produce (there are a hundred varieties of cheese to try). Add stately homes with immaculate gardens and rolling hills wrapped in morning mist.

What you’ll see on a Rabbie’s Cotswolds tour

Our small group tours to the Cotswolds cover two main routes. The first pairs the Cotswolds villages with Oxford, departing from London, Bath, or Bristol. You'll have the morning to explore Britain's oldest university, the Ashmolean Museum, and Christ Church, the only college that's also a cathedral (and featured in Harry Potter). After lunch, stroll Bibury's 17th-century Arlington Row and Burford, the "Gateway to the Cotswolds."

If prehistoric mysteries are more your thing, our Stonehenge and Cotswolds guided tours from Bath and Bristol start at the 5,000-year-old monument. Then it's Avebury, a village inside the world's largest prehistoric stone circle, and Lacock, whose abbey cloisters doubled as Hogwarts corridors. You'll finish in Castle Combe, one of the region's prettiest villages.
