Journey through the North Highlands
Leaving Inverness, we travel north across the Beauly Firth, heading toward the dramatic landscapes of the northern Highlands. This region captivates with jagged mountain ridges soaring into the sky, shimmering lochs, and vast, open vistas. Along the way, we'll stop for photos and enjoy the breathtaking viewpoint at Loch Maree.
Exploring the Torridon area
Next, we head to the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve Visitor Centre for a short break. From here, we journey along a single-track road through one of Scotland's National Nature Reserves, renowned for its rugged mountains, deep valleys, and pristine forests. Your driver-guide will share insights about the area's woodland regeneration, offering opportunities to view native pine trees and take in the sweeping landscape. We continue through the towering Torridon mountains, where dramatic geology meets pristine wilderness. This region offers glimpses of Scotland's raw, untamed beauty, before we arrive at the picturesque village of Shieldaig for a brief stop.
Lunch in Applecross and Bealach na Bà, Eilean Donan Castle
We continue along the coast to Applecross, a remote village that still preserves the charm of traditional Highland life, where some residents speak Gaelic. Enjoy lunch at the Applecross Inn, famous for its hearty Highland cuisine and cozy atmosphere. Next, prepare for the thrilling drive along Bealach na Bà, one of Scotland's highest and most dramatic roads, once used to move cattle. At Loch Duich, you find Eilean Donan Castle, perched on a small island. Enjoy refreshments at a local café and stroll along the loch to admire the castle. Alternatively, you can explore its chambers, where you'll discover a collection of artifacts belonging to the MacKenzie and MacRae clans.
Return journey to Inverness
The journey back to Inverness takes us past shimmering lochs framed by rugged mountains of the Five Sisters of Kintail. After this visual feast of towering peaks, we reach the dark and mysterious Loch Ness, the home of the elusive monster. Keep your eyes peeled as we stop for photos along the way, before continuing along the loch's shores, where the hauntingly beautiful landscape gradually transitions back to the bustling streets of Inverness.

The UK and Ireland's historic city centres are full of narrow streets and winding roads. So, to speed up your departure, we only pick up from our central meeting points. What's more is leaving the city using the most direct route also reduces the carbon footprint of our tours.
We don't recommend bringing your car into the centre of our departure cities. It can be hard to find parking, and there are excellent public transportation services.
Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time. Due to waiting restrictions, we can't wait for you if you're late.
Entry requirements vary depending on your nationality, personal circumstances, and the country or countries you will travel to and transit through.
