Departing from London, you journey through the heart of the ancient kingdom of Wessex, a major Anglo-Saxon realm that played a key part in bringing the country together as a single nation.

You stop on the way at Runnymede for some refreshments and a walk through a peaceful meadow which witnessed one of history’s most important events: the sealing of the Magna Carta by King John of England. This document started as a peace treaty between a king and his rebellious barons, but it went on to become the foundation of human rights around the world.

Stonehenge & Winchester

Your second stop is one of the most puzzling structures in Britain; Stonehenge. Was it an ancient temple, an astronomical calendar, or perhaps the work of Merlin's magic? You'll have a few hours to explore the visitor centre, eat lunch, and see the 5000-year-old stones. Will you uncover the mystery behind why this monument was built?
