Manchester to Wales and Conwy Castle
Here are a few words you might want to know today. Helo (hello) and diolch (thank you), to start. And one phrase you might hear is Croeso i Gymru - “Welcome to Wales”. Because today we're leaving Manchester and heading straight for the border of Wales. Your first stop of the day is Conwy. This must be one of the most picture-perfect harbour towns in the world. You can see a castle perched by the sea, the ‘world's smallest house', and lots of cute restaurants boasting the best fish and chips.
Conwy to Betws-y-Coed via Llanberis pass and Snowdonia National Park
Our journey continues as you venture along the winding, scenic roads of the Snowdonia National Park and along Llanberis Pass. Nature shows off today as the road snakes between towering peaks, their rugged and craggy faces riding steeply around you. We arrive in Betws-Y-Coed, a quaint town known as the gateway to Snowdonia. It's also famous for its alpine trees and cosy cafes, which is perfect because this is your lunch stop for the day. If it's a cold day, why not warm yourself up with a bowl of Cawl, a hearty meat and vegetable stew that is sometimes considered the national dish of Wales.
Lunch in Betws-y-Coed to Chester
As we leave Betws-y-Coed, you'll be surrounded by a wild and varied landscape, from lush woodlands to cascading rivers as we leave the dramatic peaks of Snowdonia behind. The landscape softens as we enter beautiful farmland; patchwork fields and charming market towns are your guides as we leave Wales behind and enter England once more as we head for the historic town of Chester.
Chester and returning to Manchester
This ancient city is yours to explore this afternoon. It has the most complete city walls in Britain, not to mention the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre. And then there's the 1000-year-old cathedral brimming with medieval carvings. Where will you start your exploration? After this history-and-beauty-filled day, we head back to the city of Manchester.
We're very proud of our tours - but don't just take our word for it. Read our verified Trustpilot reviews below.

England’s weather is delightfully varied, offering a unique experience in every season. Spring and summer bring blooming countryside and sunny afternoons, while autumn and winter add a cozy, atmospheric charm to historic towns and rolling landscapes. Rain or shine, England’s beauty and rich heritage make it an unforgettable destination!
Spring (March - May)
Spring weather in England is wonderfully unpredictable! You’ll experience a mix of crisp, frosty mornings and pleasantly warm afternoons. Expect temperatures ranging from 48-60°F (9-16°C), with occasional rain showers that help the countryside burst into vibrant bloom. Humidity levels are moderate, sitting between 50-80%, with average rainfall of 1.65-2.77 inches per month.
Summer (June - August)
Summers in England are mild and pleasant, with temperatures typically ranging from 50-77°F (10-25°C). While you’ll enjoy sunny days, light rain showers are common. The humidity level hovers between 50-80%, and average rainfall is around 2 inches per month, so packing a light rain jacket is always wise!
Autumn (September - November)
Autumn brings cooler temperatures and stunning landscapes as the leaves turn gold, amber, and red. Temperatures range from 48-60°F (9-16°C) in early autumn and drop further as the season progresses. You’ll encounter breezy, damp days and occasional sunshine, along with similar rainfall levels to spring and summer.
Winter (December - February)
Winters in England are generally mild compared to many other regions, with temperatures averaging around 35-50°F (2-10°C). Frosty mornings and rain showers are common, but snowfall is usually light and infrequent. With moderate humidity levels and rain likely, dressing in layers and waterproofs is key for staying comfortable.

Hello curious traveller, are you ready to go beyond with us? Whether you're heading to the Highlands, the Lake District, or further; we know you might have a few questions before setting off on your adventure. Our FAQs are here to help make your journey smooth and stress-free.
The UK and Ireland's historic city centres are full of narrow streets and winding roads. So, to speed up your departure, we only pick up from our central meeting points. What's more is leaving the city using the most direct route also reduces the carbon footprint of our tours.
We don't recommend bringing your car into the centre of our departure cities. It can be hard to find parking, and there are excellent public transportation services.
Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time. Due to waiting restrictions, we can't wait for you if you're late.
Entry requirements vary depending on your nationality, personal circumstances, and the country or countries you will travel to and transit through. It is your responsibility to ensure you have all relevant documentation required for your selected itinerary and that you meet all formal entry requirements before travelling.
You can find up-to-date and reliable information on the official tourism website of the counties you’re visiting, or from their embassy or consulate.

It's simple: you book, you go. This means we'll never cancel your tour because of a minimum numbers policy.
Due to logistical reasons, we're unable to let you pre-book a seat on the bus. But our comfortable 16-seat mini-coaches have huge windows. So, you'll always get a good view.
We like to keep our coaches small and nimble. This means we have no on-board toilet facilities, but you frequently stop in local towns and villages for comfort breaks.
We regret we don't carry children under the age of five on our scheduled tours. Also, some of our tours that focus on whisky experiences are suitable for travellers aged 18+.
You can ask us about the tours we recommend for younger children. And if your child is less than 1.35m tall, you should let us know, so we can provide them with a suitable booster seat.
We want you to enjoy every country you visit with us. And we believe the best way to do this is to get you off the mini-coach and out exploring. So, we give you plenty of time to take photos, go walking, and explore ancient ruins.

You don't need to. We stop in small towns, villages, and rural eateries where you can choose whatever meal pleases both your taste buds and your budget.
Let's be honest, our driver-guides would never refuse a cheeky bonus. But it's up to you, and the amount is entirely at your discretion.
