The Latin Quarter

Galway's Latin Quarter is the kind of place that pulls you in and keeps you there. Narrow, colourful streets lined with independent shops, seafood restaurants, and pubs that have been hosting traditional sessions for longer than anyone can remember. On a warm evening, with a fiddle playing somewhere nearby, it's hard to think of anywhere you'd rather be.

The Cliffs of Moher

Seven hundred feet of sheer rock face dropping straight into the Atlantic Ocean. The Cliffs of Moher are one of those sights that photographs genuinely cannot prepare you for. You stand at the edge and realise the scale of it all over again. A highlight of any Galway trip, and one of the great natural wonders of Ireland.

Connemara

West of Galway, the road opens up into some of the wildest, most beautiful countryside in Ireland. Bog land, mountains, and loughs stretching out in every direction, with the odd whitewashed cottage breaking up the horizon. Connemara is the kind of place that makes you go quiet. The Burren

A limestone plateau that looks like the surface of the moon, and blooms with rare wildflowers every spring. The Burren is one of Ireland's most striking landscapes, home to ancient stone monuments, early Christian settlements, and scenery that makes you wonder why you'd never heard of it before.
