Why depart from Glasgow
As Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow offers visitors far more than a transport connection. Its creative spirit, famous hospitality, world-class music venues, vibrant nightlife, and year-round calendar of events make it a fantastic destination in its own right, while being just 45 minutes by train from Edinburgh, making it a convenient base during busy travel periods.
From the shores of Loch Lomond to the mountains of Glencoe and the islands of Scotland’s west coast, many of the country's most spectacular sights are within easy reach from Glasgow. Thanks to its location and excellent transport links, it has become a leading departure point for travellers looking to discover the Highlands, islands, and beyond.
