Rabbies Accommodation Information

Important Information about your Accommodation on Tour

Your tour does not include accommodation in the price. By giving you a choice of accommodation it allows you to manage your budget. We stay in smaller places where you will feel closer to the local people. This also means you help to sustain the communities you visit in the long term. Choose from either a hotel, B&B or a hostel and we will book it for you. We will always do our very best to satisfy your personal requirements and have an amazing track record for providing our customers with the best quality accommodation available. We do advise that single supplements usually apply, particularly during peak season when double/twin room rates are charged for sole occupancy .Please note that whilst Rabbie’s will try and place single travellers into the same accommodation, this may not be possible due to availability and the time of each individual reservation.

The accommodation we use will be dispersed around various towns and villages, usually not more than a 10-15 minute walk from the centre. There are occasions however when this can be increased to 20-30 minutes. Taxis are available for a small fee if necessary. If you have access needs or specific requirements please let us know when booking. Late bookings and/or peak season may limit the choice and location of available accommodation.

Whilst on tour your driver/guide will drop you off at your pre booked accommodation* and pick you up each morning.

*Please note that if your accommodation has already been booked by Rabbie’s, as per your initial request, there will be a surcharge for any amendments, and are entirely at our discretion. Changes to accommodation cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability. A minimum of £5.00 will apply increasing to a maximum of £20.00 dependent on the length of the tour.

Please be prepared to pay cash. Most bed and breakfast, hostels and guest houses do not accept credit cards. In most large towns automatic cash point machines are readily available.

Customers are able to book their own accommodation as long as we have been informed that you intend to do this, and that it is within our drivers’ drop off’ area. If you are at all unsure please contact the office for guidance.

We are unable to supply a list of providers that we use due to availability at the time of booking. We do visit our providers regularly and are proud of the long standing relationships we have with them and positive feedback from previous customers.

This trip was definitely the highlight of our time is Scotland this year! We got an extra stop in Culloden - we really wanted to visit there and it was not a planned stop in that tour. Liam and Jodie were kind, professional, and very pleasent. Whenever we come again we want to travel only with them! P.S - Loved the place we stayed for the night in Inverness - the Dalmore guest house. Comfiest beds weve ever slept in!

Great time in Highland with the wonderful guide Catty! It was my first time in Highland but (thanks to Catty and fantastic Highlands landscapes) not the last, I hope. Thanks for everything! You are the best guide ever: helpful, full of stories, kind. And excellent driver also! Thanks for a amazing trip. Natalia.

i travelled with my wife on the 20th and 21st. it was a fantastic experience especially because of our driver/guide dave. He is extremely knowledgable and witty and was really keen on showing us the different sites. also full credit to rabbies to have a tour for just 4 people (we were accompanied by a lovely italian couple) inspite of taking us in a 16 seater

Simply had to write in to convey how memorable our 2 day tour on 16 and 17 April was. Our tour guide was amazing. His repertoire of information would put any academic to shame. He kept us enthralled throughout the 2 days, never a dull moment. He even sang for us, and pretty impressive singing it was. All in all a trip we would never forget mainly due to the pretty sights and the extra efforts of our tour guide....Kudos to him and your organisation. PS. He does resemble Gerard Butler !!! See pics of him with my wife and friend

I did the two day Lochness and Inverness tour with Rabbies. Our tour guide was Arron (the wee man), he was exceptionally good. He was really funny and kept us entertained. Loved the stories he told us along the way. Learned a lot about the Scottish history along the way. He also played a great selection of music. On the first day we had the perfect sunny weather as we drove towards Inverness, second day we had the gray sky with a lot of snow fall as well, it still was amazing.. The boat trip through Lochness, then to Glencoe!! It was just perfect.. Without feeling rushed there were many stops along the way for pictures. All in all a really good trip with some amazing memories, big thanks to Arron. Between both days the only thing that could have been better was the hostel selection, which was Inverness Student Hotel. If I knew beforehand I would have requested a different accommodation. Arron also informed us all the things Rabbis doing to protect the environment such as self-imposed carbon tax, plating trees. If I am ever is Scotland again, I will definitely book another tour with Rabbies.

We will thank Alan for a great tour to Inverness. We really enjoy it. Alan made it a memory for life. He is the best! Thank you for the trip on June 27-28 2014. We hope you will be our guide next year when we hope to come back for a 5 days trip with Rabbies. Greetings from the stupid swedish family who asked if there was a cash-machine in Inverness.

Full Itinerary (English)

Day 1 You will depart Edinburgh and head north across the River Forth towards the Highlands. We make a short stop in the holiday town of Pitlochry where you have the option to visit the local whisky distillery. From here the tour takes you past Blair Castle into the Cairngorm National Park, where we stop for lunch and spend time taking in the majesty of this amazing area within the ancient Caledonian Pine Forests of the Rothiemurchus Estate. You then continue north and arrive at your destination of Inverness, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation. The evening is free for you to explore the capital of the Highlands.

Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast you will be picked up from your accommodation in Inverness and explore the surrounding countryside en route to Loch Ness. Here you have the chance to either take a boat trip along the loch with great views of Urquhart Castle or stay on shore and visit the impressive ruins of the castle, overlooking the loch. Our journey continues south through the Great Glen past Ben Nevis and Fort William, stopping for lunch along the way before arriving in Glencoe. This haunting glen was the scene of a terrible massacre in 1692, where many of the Clan Macdonald was slaughtered. The return journey continues over the wild and remote Rannoch Moor and into the countryside around Stirling, before finally reaching our starting point of Edinburgh. Arrive approx. 19.00.
