Morning

Crossing the border to Wales

Leaving Bristol behind, you cross over the River Severn and make your way into Wales. This small country is filled with stunning landscapes and is rich with history; your driver-guide regales you with local tales as you drive past the large industrial cities and towards the scenic coast. Your first stop of the day is St Fagan’s National Museum of History - a heritage site where you can learn about the past.

Mid Morning

St Fagans & Pembrokeshire

Step back in time at the unique St Fagans National Museum of History. This open-air museum of Welsh culture and architecture features historic buildings relocated and reconstructed to showcase life through the centuries. Explore traditional cottages, workshops, and visit St Fagans Castle and Gardens, a stunning Tudor manor with fascinating interiors.

Then, you continue into Pembrokeshire, the birthplace of Wales' patron saint, St David. You stop in one of the market towns for lunch on your way to the famously stunning coastline.

Afternoon

Free afternoon in Tenby

The sea and it's coastal villages provide the perfect backdrop for postcard-perfect pictures, as you make stops along the way to take in the serene views. This part of the day is flexible but expect towering sea cliffs, sweeping sandy bays, and crystal‑clear waters

Next, you head to Tenby. This harbour town is famous for its castle walls dating back to the 13th-century; but it's more popular as a seaside resort, with sandy beaches, Victorian architecture, and traditional pubs, restaurants, and cafes. You have free time to explore here in the afternoon at your leisure. You can walk down the steps to the beach and take in the views of the sea as you walk along the cobbled streets.

Early Evening

Free evening in Tenby

As the sun slips behind Tenby’s harbour, the evening is yours to enjoy. You might wander at an unhurried pace through the town’s ancient walled streets, letting the sea air guide you toward the waterfront. Along the way, pubs and restaurants begin to glow, warmly inviting you in for a drink or a leisurely meal after your stroll. Will you choose fresh local seafood, or be tempted by another regional favourite?
