Discover sublime lochs, smooth whiskies, and serene glens on this Highland tour from Edinburgh.
Dunkeld - This village is surrounded by luscious forest, and boasts an incredible ruined cathedral.
The Hermitage - Venture through dense woodland and enjoy gushing views of a gorgeous waterfall.
Pitlochry - This town was one of Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday spots.
Queen’s View - Enjoy an iconic view said to have been a favourite of queens.
Loch Tay and Kenmore - Learn about the Bronze Age loch dwellers at shores of a beautiful loch.
Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery - Taste the ‘water of life’ and learn to love it like a true Scotsman.
The valleys conceal treasures, beasts, and myths. The lochs provided food, water, and transport for the highland inhabitants. And whisky kept the ancient cultures warm throughout the winter.
On this tour you explore the history and beauty of these three Scottish icons. You get the chance to taste whisky in the area it's distilled. You view lovely lochs, gorgeous glens, and magnificent mountains. And you learn the history of a magnificent ruined cathedral.
It’s a tour that shows a diverse range of beautiful and iconic Scottish locations.
Students, seniors over 60, and children between 5 and 15 (unfortunately, we don't carry children under 5 years old)
Leave Edinburgh and travel over the Forth Road Bridge to the Kingdom of Fife.
Travelling north the scenery changes from the rolling farmland of the lowlands to forested hills and mountains as you approach the highland fault line.
On the banks of the River Tay you find the gorgeous cathedral town of Dunkeld. You stop here and have the chance to explore the architecturally fascinating cathedral and the quaint streets of this picturesque village.
It's a short drive from here to the Hermitage, where you can take a fantastic woodland walk leading up to the Black Linn Falls.
Leaving the Hermitage you follow the wide valley of the River Tay towards the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry. You spend around one hour here, so you can visit the many great shops or have lunch.
After lunch, you take a scenic drive through the mountains of Highland Perthshire, and take a short stop at the Queen's View overlooking Loch Tummel. On a clear day the view here is awe-inspiring as it looks over to the unmistakable peak of Schiehallion and beyond to the mountains of Glencoe.
Continuing alongside Loch Tummel, you head over the hills into the ancient lands of Breadalbane, or the ‘High Country’ surrounding Loch Tay. You make a stop at the waterside village of Kenmore.
From here you travel the short distance to the town of Aberfeldy and Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, where you can discover the secret of how Scotland's national drink is made.
After enjoying a dram of our ‘water of life’, the tour returns you to the lowlands and back to Edinburgh.
We spent really great day with Judy. She is an excellent story teller. I went back to my young years and was feeling like a child listening to fairy-tales. Thanks a lot, Judy. When I am reading other posts I only wonder how did Rabbie’s find so many people with such enthusiasm and love for their job. I wish you all the best, go on!
We joined your tour on 15/2/16 and would like to say how much we enjoyed it. The guide (Aaron) was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly and humourous who l must say made the day extra special. The new driver on the tour (Nick) made everyone feel safe. Thank you Rabbies.
We had an amazing day with Grant. This lad was a bard born 400 years too soon. His story telling with music were amazing. We learned loads and had a lot of fun. We saw an amazing view of history with amazing stories. Grant absolutely loves his job and it shows. Thanks for a great day, Boyd and Heather.
I initially joined the tour simply because I wanted to go to a whisky distillery, but as soon as the tour started, I instantly became a fan of our superb guide, Party Pete. Full of knowledge of various aspects of Scotland, talked in a way thats easy for even a non-native English speaker like me to understand, and was entertaining. I loved all the little episodes he talked about. In my opinion, a tour guide sometimes could be more important that the theme of the tour or where we are going. If I visit Scotland again and have such an opportunity, I would definately choose a tour that is guided by him. Thank you so much for a great day, Pete!
Let me just start by saying this tour was one of the highlights of my spring break. Alan was our tour guide and he couldn't have been more fun and informative, we loved him!! He seemed to know everything, and I mean EVERYTHING about where he took us and the history behind it. We were all on the edge of our seats every time he told us a story. I learned more in one day with Alan than I did after a semester in a history class. Basically, Alan was the best. The tour itself was also breath-taking, we went on the Highland Lochs, Glens and Whiskey day tour on March 13th, and I fell in love many times with Scotland's countryside. Thanks Alan!! You're the bomb. (Also seriously, apply for a voice-over job for the history channel)((but don't quit rabbies because we're definitely coming back, and requesting you))
This tour was fantastic. James made it amazing. It set the rest of our vacation up to be one of the best ever. James' expertise and knowledge helped us to understand the history of Scotland in a fun way. We are sure our Scotland vacation would not have been as terrific as it was without James. For the following two weeks, we referenced what James taught us on day 2 of our trip. Highly recommend any tour that James is on as it will make your vacation!
This was just perfect! Thanks a lot to Shelby!!! Very interesting and entertaining! The only problem was that... some people in the group just don't understand that there are other people on the tour and don't care very much to come in time and keep quiet when they are on the bus... But you can't do much about it, unfortunately )
Our guide was Mac Dalrymple and he was the best guide in my life. The trip was amazing. We went cross beautiful scottish highland, listening folk music and many and many stories Mac told us. And he is very good narrator. Every stop we made was something special. Mac made this trip unforgettable. Thank you Mac!
I wanted to thank to our guide Mac D. Thank you so much, my friends/family and I had one of the best tours we have ever been to. The past Saturday was filled with tons of nice views, narratives, historical facts and music. Thank you very much.
Thanks for a lot to our guide Emily! Great driver and story teller. It was an amazing trip where we got to learn a lot about Scottish history and where we discover pretty villages and great landscape. We will definitely recommend this tour further...
