Delight in the rolling hills and wildlife of the Cairngorms National Park, relish a golden dram of famous whisky, and learn the legends and little-known secrets behind these two quintessential Scottish wonders.

This time-worn, graceful arch is Scotland’s oldest stone crossing built for a surprisingly solemn purpose.

Sit back, relax and gaze on the monumental peaks and glorious glens of the UK’s largest national park.

This freshwater loch with sandy beaches is as unique as it is bonnie.

Whisky making was a part of everyday life in this corner of the world. And today it still thrives albeit legally compared to the 1700’s.

This thriving town is the premier outpost for hillwalking and outdoor sports in the Cairngorm mountains.

Journey into the heart of the Scottish Highlands, exploring hidden corners and remote locations far beyond the usual tourist path.
Let's explore the Cairngorms National Park and raise a dram of whisky to its beauty

Pick up time: 9.30am
Location: Inverness Pick Up, Bus stop next to Inverness Cathedral, Ardross Street, Inverness, IV3 5NS

Inverness to Carrbridge
We depart Inverness and travel through the spellbinding landscapes of Speyside for some great views of the Cairngorms National Park. Keep your camera ready to capture the vibrant colour of blooming heather if you're visiting in the summer and autumn months. Our first destination is the forest village of Carrbridge. Here, you can get some refreshments, breathe in the cool mountain air and wander around the Old Packhorse Bridge.
Cairngorms National Park and Loch Morlich
We continue south to the Glenmore Forest Park, where you have free time to explore. Your options include a walk through the woods to Loch Morlich, which is one of Scotland's most scenic and popular lochs. You can admire a sandy beach and large and ancient pine trees before you make your way back to the mini-coach. If you prefer not to walk, there's a café and exhibition at the visitor centre.
Aviemore for lunch and Tomatin Distillery
All this walking and fresh air must have worked up your appetite, so you head to Aviemore for lunch. This cute little town has been inhabited since at least the 1600s and today is a great hub from which to explore the national park.
This great day must be finished off with a dram of delicious whisky at Tomatin Distillery. You'll savour the aromas of fruit and spice at Tomatin, a distillery with a difference. They care about their community and those who wish to be a part of it. And that's what makes their whisky easy-going yet unique. Follow your guide to discover the production site and finish with a tutored tasting of three single malts.
Journey back to Inverness
Leave the remote landscapes of the Highlands behind and begin your journey back to Inverness, taking in the final sweeping views along the way. We then make our return to the city, arriving in the early evening to conclude the day’s adventure.
You return to Inverness at approximately 5.15pm.
