You leave Edinburgh and head north across the River Forth towards the Highlands.
You make a short stop in one of the quintessential Scottish towns bordering the highland fault line, before crossing into the Cairngorms National Park.
There are numerous options on route including a famous whisky distillery, stunning caledonian forest walks, ancient standing stones, world-changing battlefields, and beautiful lochs. What you do today will be decided by your group and the ever- changing Scottish climate. Ample time for lunch will be given en route.
You then continue north and arrive in Inverness, where you’re dropped off at your accommodation.
The evening is free for you to explore the capital of the Highlands.
After a leisurely breakfast you’re picked up from your accommodation and taken into the surrounding countryside.
You travel to Loch Ness where you have the chance to take a boat trip (April - October) along the loch or stay on shore and visit the impressive ruins of Urquhart castle overlooking the loch.
Our journey continues south through the Great Glen past Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in UK and Fort William. You stop for lunch along the way before arriving in Glencoe.
The return journey continues over the wild and remote Rannoch Moor and into the lowland scenery around Stirling, before finally reaching our starting point of Edinburgh.
I did this tour last week with Rabbies and finally my dream came true!! Scotland is a magical country and Im sure I will return as soon as possble!!! Our tour guide Gavin was incredible. He gave us a lot of info about Scotland (tradition, music, and so on) and made us feel among friends. An incredible experience, cant wait to have a chance to travel with Rabbies again.
July 29 2019- Our family of 4 had a spectacular 2 day tour with Nick A and William D. William, our driver greeted us in a full traditional kilt- nice touch by the way!! These two provided a great time stopping at all of the sights on the way up to Inverness and back with plenty of great story telling and visiting unique spots. We had beautiful rooms in Inverness at the Dalmore Guest House. Both fellows were fun and accommodated all of our requests- Whiskey sampling, the Clava Cairns, Loch Ness, the Urquhart Castle, Culloden Battle field the Hairy Coos, and plenty of time to view the beautiful highland mountain scenery and other Lochs along the way. Our two teen boys enjoyed the trip and are still talking about the history and legends that Nick told us about along the way- we cant thank you enough! Our hope is to return soon! Team USA!
This was our first coach tour and we were VERY impressed with everything. Our tour guide was Aaron who was very knowledgeable, relaxed and amusing. Taking the weather forecast into consideration and with agreement from the tour members Aaron took the decision to reverse the itinerary so that the keen photographers in the group had the optimal conditions for their photos. This was a really good decision and we had a wonderful time. The accommodation Rabbies booked for us was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. We would recommend them thoroughly as they went the extra mile to make a really good tour.
I took 2 day tour with rabbies on 7-8 October 2018.It a very good experience for my life.Every thing is exellent, comfortable van, very professional, frieadly and very kind guide(Adam), I woud like to say special thanks to the guide of rabbies tour that made me had a wonderfull day in scotland.
Honestly and truly one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve ever had. It may sound quite dramatic but it is true.. Our guide was Alan, and man did this guy know his stuff! So easy going and even when I was late he was super understanding! I loved everything about this tour, every little stop.It honestly broke my heart to leave Scotland behind but the memories from this short but beautiful tour will stay with me. :) cannot wait to do another tour with Rabbies!
I had such a wonderful time on this trip that I cant wait to head back over and take another. The Scottish Highlands are positively breathtaking and Roland knew exactly how and where to prove that to us. I could go into details about the rolling and craggy mountains that would be perfectly visible miles in the distance or the way low cloud cover increasingly obscured them, making them mysterious and enchanting, but Id rather just tell you about Rolands exploits at Loch Ness. We stopped at a convenient little place where we could dip our toes in the shore of the Loch and while we were all standing water side and marveling at the incredible picturesque vista before us, Roland stripped off his shirt, threw it into the wind, and waded deep out into the Loch before diving below the surface. Not knowing if this was standard tour business or something the locals routinely did, no one protested as our tour guide and bus driver disappeared below the clear, cold water. Though after two or three minutes, we began to worry that something had gone amiss or, god forbid, Nessie had in fact appeared and whisked him away. But LO! See now the bubbles that rise to the top and grow in frequency. More and more turbulent the waters became before the long neck of what could only be compared to as a dinosaur neck sprouted from the surface, rising twenty feet in the air and turning to stare directly at us-with Roland perched atop her head. He tapped his foot once upon the beasts head and out of the water appeared a fin, that lazily waved at us, before the whole of the great beast turned, and swam back into the depths. Roland also has a very lovely singing voice.
Its amazing to meet Rolland again! Last November my friends and I joined his three-day Skye tour. It was a brilliant memory in my life, so I decided to take my parents to visit Scotland. What a coincidence! Were so lucky that we have Rolland again this time for the two-day tour. Hes a very professional tour guide and humorous storyteller. My parents had a great time. Id like to go to Scotland again to explore those places I havent been to in the future.
Very nice tour: two days that can give you an idea of what is Scotland. The bus stop each hour to show different places they are flexible to change scheduling and show what people prefer. Our driver was Gillian, a very professional lady, well prepared on Scotish history she showed a lot a passion for her job and for her country. Absolutly kind and patient with all of us. 5 star!!!!
Our tour guide, Gillian, was amazing! She showed us the most beautiful places in Scotland. She is very knowledgable about her country, and taught us so much! Would recommend taking a tour with her, we had an amazing time!! Thank you, Rabbies!
I took the two-day tour with an overnight in Inverness with my 11 year-old child. Being of Scottish descent and having spent my whole life hearing about Scotland, my expectations were very high for the tour, but I was still wowed. From a logistical standpoint, everything went extremely smoothly and there were zero glitches. Our tour guides, Duncan and Ross, were so much fun to travel with. Duncans stories were epic, hilarious, and informative, and really provided context to all we were seeing. Add relevant (and sometimes irreverently irrelevant!) music in, and youve got more than just a tour. If you should happen to see this, Duncan, you really ought to consider writing a book or creating your own podcast, or maybe even making a film of all these great stories. The telling is everything, and youve got real talent. Ross driving was outstanding, safe, and steady, and we appreciated that he played the bagpipes for us during one of the stops. I loved the democratic feel of the trip: we were given options to decide upon as a group as the days proceeded and this gave us a bit of sense of ownership of our experiences. There were also some fun surprises and sites we were not expecting to see along the way--all were great. Lucky for me, this included an impromptu drop-off at my familys clan museum along the way, which had me in tears, and truly made the trip unforgettable for me and my daughter. Our accommodations in Inverness at the Dalmore Guest House were outstanding Ive literally never seen a cleaner room in my life, nor had a more lovely person welcome us and cook our breakfast (Molly, the best). My only complaint is that the tour had to end. When I asked my daughter what her favorite thing about the trip was, I expected her to respond with the name of an attraction or a treat we ate along the way, but her answer was: All the stories Duncan told. Remember, this is from an 11 year-old with a short attention span and a sweet tooth--the stories won out over the fudge shop in Fort William, the ice cream in Pitlochry, and the cupcakes at Loch Morlich, not to mention searching for Nessie and seeing Inverness Castle (after having just performed in Macbeth at school). I doubt youd find a better experience or better deal to be had from any other tour company in Edinburgh. Thanks a million, Rabbies, you definitely know what youre doing!

The UK and Ireland's historic city centres are full of narrow streets and winding roads. So, to speed up your departure, we only pick up from our central meeting points. What's more is leaving the city using the most direct route also reduces the carbon footprint of our tours.
We don't recommend bringing your car into the centre of our departure cities. It can be hard to find parking, and there are excellent public transportation services.
Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time. Due to waiting restrictions, we can't wait for you if you're late.
If you're late for your tour, our cancellation policy applies.
We have a cancellation period of three days for our one day tours, and 21 days for longer tours. If cancelled outside this period, we'll give you a full refund minus a 10% admin charge. If you cancel inside this period, refunds are at our discretion. Click here to view full terms and conditions.
It's simple: you book, you go. This means we'll never cancel your tour because of a minimum numbers policy.
Due to logistical reasons, we're unable to let you pre-book a seat on the bus. But our comfortable 16-seat mini-coaches have huge windows. So, you'll always get a good view.
Unfortunately, we have no on-board toilet facilities, but you'll have regular comfort breaks.
We aim to accommodate everyone. To read more information on how we do this, click here to go to our accessibility guide.
We regret we don't carry children under the age of five on our scheduled tours.
You can ask us about the tours we recommend for younger children. And if your child is less than 1.35m tall, you should let us know, so we can provide them with a suitable booster seat.
We want you to enjoy Britain and Ireland. And we believe the best way to do this is to get you off the mini-coach and out exploring. So, we give you plenty of time to take photos, go walking, and explore ancient ruins.
We exclude visitor attractions in your tour price because it lets you travel your way. It means you can pamper yourself with a luxury lunch or skip an attraction whenever you feel like it.
You don't need to. We stop in small towns, villages, and rural eateries where you can choose whatever meal pleases both your taste buds and your budget.
Let's be honest, our driver-guides would never refuse a cheeky bonus. But it's up to you, and the amount is entirely at your discretion.
We advise you take out travel insurance.
You're protected by ABTOT when you chose to let us reserve your accommodation on a multi-day tour. This means you can claim back anything you've paid us if we become bankrupt. Read our terms and conditions for more information.
