Your tour takes you south to the beautiful Scott’s View, overlooking the Tweed Valley. You then get the opportunity to visit the nearby statue of the great Scottish patriot, William Wallace.
From here, you travel to Melrose where you can visit the ruined Melrose abbey, founded by the Cistercians in the 12th Century. The Cistercian monks had close connections with the Knights Templar, and legend tells that Melrose Abbey is the burial place of Robert the Bruce's heart, brought back from the crusades in Moorish Spain.
Following lunch in Melrose, you make your way to the stunning 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, made world famous in Dan Brown’s book, ‘Da Vinci Code’. Here you have time to explore the chapel and find out more about the myths and legends surrounding the whereabouts of the ‘Holy Grail’.
After your visit to Rosslyn Chapel, you return to Edinburgh.
The tour was superb. Great places, breathtaking natural views and adequate time to explore the areas. It was complemented with really knowledgeable and entertaining guides Sarah and Dave. They went out of their way trying to make every moment of the trip memorable plus clicking pictures of solo travellers like myself when requested and never getting annoyed.
My second time on the Scottish Borders Tour. Enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Barney (our guide) was excellent!!!! His knowledge and passion made for an informative and interesting time. I highly recommend this tour and hope that Barney never loses his passion!!
Booked this day tour with my husband and our wonderful friends. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Learning so much more than we would have if we had hired a car. I highly recommend Rabbies Tours, you will be filled with so much knowledge and Mike the driver / tour guide certainly knew his stuff and was very welcoming, funny and made us feel right at home. The tour was very reasonably priced and we saw more on the tour than we expected to. Our visit to Edinburgh was only for 3 days and we will definitely be back as there are just so many things to do and see. Loved visiting Rosslyn Chapel ( one off the bucket list). Melrose Abbey was also brilliant, where the heart of Robert the Bruce is buried. Lovely village too!
We had a great experience today with our guide, Bob! The Scottish countryside is beautiful and scenic, but it came alive and increased in intensity by having Bob as our guide. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Dear Gillian, You are a great guide and we enjoyed meeting you so much. You are the heart of Scotland for sure. You took the time to talk with me about various Scottish things I wanted to know. It meant so much. My friend and I had to take another type tour on a big bus once, it was not the same as a rabbie tour. When I can, I will be back. If I could get my family moved to Scotland I would. Your tours are the best way to see Scotland and learn the history. Suzanne , from the U.S.
We went on this tour with Emily (the best tourgide) the day before we went to the Islay also with Emily ) Like on all other Tours we started in a new clean an comfortable bus. Emily showed us very nice places and tould us a lot about the scottish history. We had such a wonderful time in scotland! Many greetings from germany!
We had a wonderful tour with Heather as our guide. A great guide attuned to the guests wishes with a great knowledge. Had a great time and learned lots. Thanks and we would return and recommend in a second. Boyd and Heather.
This tour was awesome and once again loved it. Eddie was a great tour guide and the places we saw were just unreal! I would suggest this to anyone and I would even do it again next time I am in Scotland!
I would like to take the DaVinci Code Roslyn tour however I am staying in Glasgow. Could someone give me advice on how to get from the Glasgow airport too Edinburgh.Easy travel as I will have a suitcase.
I never really contribute my opinion to these types of things but my experience was so memorable thanks to our amazing tour guide and I had to come on here and give her some credit. I was on a 2 week trip across the UK and spent 3 days in Scotland with my boyfriend and we loved our tour guide for the Scottish Borders Tour. She told us the Story of Mary Queen of Scotts and the Drive and played Scottish music on the bus. I had been on many tours during this trip and hers was the one that stands out by far. She even told me where I could find the cd she played on the bus! I bought 2 of them. We loved Sarah! And Scotland!
The UK and Ireland's historic city centres are full of narrow streets and winding roads. So, to speed up your departure, we only pick up from our central meeting points. What's more is leaving the city using the most direct route also reduces the carbon footprint of our tours.
We don't recommend bringing your car into the centre of our departure cities. It can be hard to find parking, and there are excellent public transportation services.
Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time. Due to waiting restrictions, we can't wait for you if you're late.
If you're late for your tour, our cancellation policy applies.
We have a cancellation period of 48 hours for our one day tours, 15 days for two to nine day tours, and 21 days for 10+ day tours. If cancelled outside this period, we'll give you a full refund minus a 10% admin charge. If you cancel inside this period, refunds are at our discretion. Click here to view full terms and conditions.
It's simple: you book, you go. This means we'll never cancel your tour because of a minimum numbers policy.
Due to logistical reasons, we're unable to let you pre-book a seat on the bus. But our comfortable 16-seat mini-coaches have huge windows. So, you'll always get a good view.
Unfortunately, we have no on-board toilet facilities, but you'll have regular comfort breaks.
We aim to accommodate everyone. To read more information on how we do this, click here to go to our accessibility guide.
We regret we don't carry children under the age of five on our scheduled tours.
You can ask us about the tours we recommend for younger children. And if your child is less than 1.35m tall, you should let us know, so we can provide them with a suitable booster seat.
We want you to enjoy Britain and Ireland. And we believe the best way to do this is to get you off the mini-coach and out exploring. So, we give you plenty of time to take photos, go walking, and explore ancient ruins.
We exclude visitor attractions in your tour price because it lets you travel your way. It means you can pamper yourself with a luxury lunch or skip an attraction whenever you feel like it.
You don't need to. We stop in small towns, villages, and rural eateries where you can choose whatever meal pleases both your taste buds and your budget.
Let's be honest, our driver-guides would never refuse a cheeky bonus. But it's up to you, and the amount is entirely at your discretion.
We advise you take out travel insurance.
You're protected by ABTOT when you chose to let us reserve your accommodation on a multi-day tour. This means you can claim back anything you've paid us if we become bankrupt. Read our terms and conditions for more information.
