You leave central London and travel west through Wessex, one of England’s most ancient kingdoms. Once you arrive at the iconic Neolithic stone circle of Stonehenge, you’re greeted at the award winning visitor centre.
Here you have the chance to view hundreds of prehistoric items from the Stonehenge collection. You then have time to explore the treasured Stone circle.
From here, the tour swings towards the banks of the River Thames at Runnymede, where King John sealed the Magna Carta in 1215.
A short journey from this contemplative location lies the Royal Town of Windsor. Surrounded by Windsor Great Park, this fabulous market town offers distinctive views and great photo opportunities.
But the real highlight is the stunning Windsor Castle, the Queen’s magnificent residence, where you can visit the State Apartments and perhaps see the changing of the guard ceremony.
Alternatively, you may wander through the town on a self guided tour of Windsor’s charming streets or take a boat trip down the river (seasonal).
Absolutely a Great Guide. Hugh was an absolute pleasure to be with, and knows his British history very well. My girlfriend Gillian took his one day London trip, and it was fantastic. Thanks.
Stonehenge and Windsor are beautiful. The duration of the tour was just right and my guides Kev and Dan were really wonderful and knowledgeable. There were supposed to be 5 people in our group but the other 4 did not turn up and so it became a private tour for me! Rabbies still went ahead even though there was only one passenger! Great service indeed!:)
