The accommodation we use will be dispersed around various towns and villages, usually not more than a 10-15 minute walk from the centre. There are occasions however when this can be increased to 20-30 minutes. Taxis are available for a small fee if necessary. If you have access needs or specific requirements please let us know when booking. Late bookings and/or peak season may limit the choice and location of available accommodation.

Customers are able to book their own accommodation as long as we have been informed that you intend to do this, and that it is within our drivers’ drop off’ area. If you are at all unsure please contact the office for guidance.

We are unable to supply a list of providers that we use due to availability at the time of booking. We do visit our providers regularly and are proud of the long standing relationships we have with them and positive feedback from previous customers.

Kundenrezensionen

I do not understand what these two prices represent. Can you explain!

Really had a blast on the tour to Lewis, Harris and Skye in the end of June. The weather wasnt the best but the company and the guide were awesome. There are so many interesting and lovely places to see and none more beautiful than Luskentyre beach on Harris. Its just breathtakingly beautiful. I could just go back over and over again. I also enjoyed the visit to the Butt of Lewis and Callanish. The outer Hebrides are just amazing. Skye is beautiful too but to me it is the outer isles that works the magic. Stevie is an awesome guide and me and my fellow travellers had a great time on his bus. He clearly loves Scotland and really enjoys showing off the beautiful places to visitors. His stories were great, his friendliness and helpfulness too. Awesome sauce, Stevie! Ive been on several tours with Rabbies and I will be back!

Just returned from a tour of the Hebrides and Skye and want to say thanks for a fabulous trip. Douglas, our guide, was terrific! He went above and beyond to accommodate our groups varying interests and was always there to explain history, geography, fairy tales. Seafood was out of this world. Weather was apparently unusual with sun, no rain, and increasing temps each day. Music, thanks to Douglas, added the perfect atmosphere.
Mary Milito - 01/06/2016

Had a wonderful time on the 6 day Outer Hebrides and Skye tour. Far exceeded my expectations. Special thanks to our guide Doug who made sure, everyone no matter what their fitness level enjoyed the experience to the utmost.
Barbara Lang - 01/06/2016

My husband, son (grown) and I joined Liam Ross on this delightful journey into the history and geography of Scotland and the clans. We knew Dunvegan Castle was critical to our trip being of MacLeod ancestry but it was a huge added bonus to learn all about Lewis and Harris as well as Skye. Meeting Norman (the Harris Tweed weaver) was fascinating to see and hear about. The countryside was spectacularly beautiful, the ferry rides were delightful and getting to experience so many different villages and town. We loved having the evenings to ourselves to explore the pubs and restaurants. What a great way to discover Scotland. We will highly recommend it to others.

I took the six day tour to the Outer Hebrides and the Isle if Skye with Matt. I cant say enough about how great this tour was! I loved Matts easy going manner. He told the best stories and was informative about the history of the areas we drove through. He knew all the best places to go and stopped at the most picturesque points for photos. We even stopped to rescue a loose cow on a busy road and we all got off the bus to herd it back into the pasture. Not everyone would do something like that and in my view, thats what makes Rabbies Tours a cut above all the rest and Matt one of the best tour guides Ive ever had. He had a great sense of humour, was very patient and kind, and really made all of the guests feel special. His music was terrific and relevant to what we were seeing at the time. His love of Scotland really shone through, and because his English pronunciation was exceptional he was easy to understand. Rabbies uses local Bed and Breakfasts, which are wonderful. I liked the small size of the tour. I have no criticism at all and would wholeheartedly recommend this incredible tour to everyone. The Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye are some of the most beautiful places on earth- bucket list places you dont want to miss, and Rabbies is the tour to see them with

Scotland, in my imagination, bordered on the mythic. When, at last, I set out to explore as much of this land as possible with a Hebridean 6 day tour, I could not have hoped for a better guide than Audrey. Her knowledge and love of this country is colossal her wealth of stories, funny, tragic or supernatural, is super impressive. What I learned of Scotland far exceeds what I could have learned from books as we constantly left the coach to explore places close up. Curveballs were thrown at us, such as a ferry strike which left us on Lewis for an extra night. These were handled with ease and a lot of good cheer. Once we finally arrived on Skye, Audrey arranged for an extra early evening excursion to the Fairy Pools so the passengers would not miss out on anything. All in all, we experienced far more of Scotland than the itinerary dictated. Rabbie’s driver/guides are the soul of the company and the face they present to the world. Audrey epitomizes everything the company promises.

This tour was a great way to travel up to see Ullapool, out to the Islands of Lewis and Harris, and to Portree and Skye especially as I was a solo newby traveler to Scotland. Our bus driver, Stevie, was also the tour guide and a true gem and ambassador for Scotland. He shared his heart and soul and love for all things Scotland from books, movies, music and musicians, tales and legends and of course history and geography of the land. He was a wealth of knowledge and I feel like I have an intimate glimpse of life in Scotlands past and present.
Cindy Modlin Adams - 03/06/2015

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Andrew for a great tour of the Outer Hebrides. A job well done yet again
joanna malton - 12/04/2015

I have been remiss in sending a message to say how much my daughter and I enjoyed our bus tour in August, 2014. Despite the damp weather we had a great time visiting the Highlands, Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye. Bruce was an amusing and informed guide. We enjoyed getting to know the other people on the bus. If we are ever able to return to Scotland, we will certainly take another tour with Rabbie's.

Full Itinerary (English)

Day 1 Depart Edinburgh and travel north into the Highlands. First stop will be the historic village of Dunkeld where you will take a short walk through the forest to some waterfalls. Continuing north the route passes through the Grampian Mountains to the Spey Valley where you will stop for lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the world famous Loch Ness. There will be time for a visit to the impressive waterfalls at Corrieshalloch Gorge before you arrive in the West Coast fishing port of Ullapool for your overnight stay.

Day 2 Catch the morning ferry from Ullapool for the 2 hour sail along Loch Broom, past the Summer Isles then out across the Minch to Stornoway – the main town on Lewis and capital of the Outer Hebrides. Look out for dolphins, whales and seabirds during the crossing. In the afternoon explore the North West coast from Arnol with its historic old “blackhouse”, through traditional crofting townships to Port of Ness and the very north tip of the island – the Butt of Lewis. From the lighthouse here there is nothing between you and the Americas! Overnight in Stornoway.

Day 3 Today will be spent exploring some of the prehistoric remains on the island as well as its finest beaches. The fascinating circular stone fort, or Broch, at Carloway will be your first stop followed by more traditional crofting communities such as Gearrannan and Shawbost. Then it’s on to Callanish with its mysterious ancient stone circle. In the afternoon you will head for the remote district of Uig with its fine, sandy beaches at Bhaltos, dramatic sea cliffs and rugged hills. This is the wilderness of the Western Isles at its finest. Overnight again in Stornoway.

Day 4 Travelling south today from the wild moorlands of Lewis to the more mountainous Harris – almost but not quite an island on its own. Famous for the locally produced cloth, Harris Tweed, it is also home to the highest mountains in the Outer Hebrides and the stunning white sands of Luskentyre. After a morning of exploring South Harris you will stop for lunch in the small port of Tarbet. Here you will catch the late afternoon ferry to Skye and continue on to the harbour town of Portree, your base for the next two nights.

Day 5 is a very flexible day on Skye. There are many possibilities depending on the weather and your driver/guide's knowledge will come to the fore in developing the best day out for you. For example you might travel north to the stunning Quiraing mountain pass and enjoy a spectacular walk through some of Skye's extraordinary geological scenery or visit the Kilt Rock, composed of basalt columns (reminiscent of the pleats in a kilt) with its waterfall cascading over the cliffs and down into the sea below. Or, after lunch you could travel to Neist Point for a walk out to the lighthouse at the most westerly point on Skye. Alternatively a visit to Dunvegan Castle, ancient ancestral seat of the Clan McLeod, may be possible.

Day 6 Departing from Portree the return journey to Edinburgh has many highlights – a visit to Eilean Donan Castle, Fort William and the dramatic scenery and dark history of Glencoe. Travelling back south through the Central Highland the last stop of the day will be in Killin beside the Falls of Dochart before returning to Edinburgh about 19.00
