Great tour, Great driver/guide

Tracy Posted on 03/07/2019

This is a great tour through some beautiful areas, and Dave is a great driver/tour guide. He knows a great deal about the Devon and Cornwall areas and has interesting facts and stories not just about the sites we visited, but also about a lot of what was around us as we drove to our destinations. Very friendly and very professional, he made sure we saw everything we signed up for and as much of anything extra that we wanted to see as he could get us to. The small group atmosphere is a nice way to travel and really gave us all a chance to spend as much, or as little, time as we wanted at a site and really let Dave tailor our experience to us. I would definitely be happy to take another Rabbies tour, and I would be happy to have Dave as my guide again

Wonderful Experience

Deb Klein Posted on 03/06/2019

We had two Debras in our tour group. The first two photos is the braver Debra greeting the braver Dartmoor pony. The sheep were more bothered by the lady with the camera phone (me) than the cyclists. We ran into them filming Doc Martin on our visit to Port Isaac. I was in the right spot at the right time to get a little video of Martin Clunes.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Trip

Thanks to our wonderful driver guide, Christo McCracken, who is so informative and fun to listen to ! Just a sweetheart ! We will definitely be using Rabbies again. Thanks.

Great Trip July 2018

This was our first Rabbies Tour. With only 6 passengers on board ,of various age groups the coach was very comfortable. Russell, our guide/ driver was very friendly informative. When arriving at each town he would give recommendations of what to visit or where to eat. In Tavistock, Russell took us to experience the art of cream tea. At Lands End he took us to visit a favourite place of his, a church from 520 AD . Experiences like this made the tour unique. We travelled to Exeter,Dartmoor National Park, Tavistock, Boscastle,St Ives,Port Isaac, Falmouth, The Mimack Theatre Launceston. Special thanks to Russ for allowing me extra time in Launceston of particular interest to us, Anne and Frank , Australia

He always gave us useful tips and advice at each destination. We highly recommend this tour with Rabbies. Siri, Greg, and Paul from Canada

Experienced my very first solo mature mini tour with Rabbies 5 Day Devon Cornwall and I thoroughly enjoyed every day of it. Our wonderful guide/driver DEAN is an absolute gem with a wonderful sense of humour and knowledge sky high. It was also my very first Brit journey so everything was exciting for me! Hoping to do another mini tour real soon and would recommend it totally! Thank you Rabbies and Dean.

Tour Experience

We toured Devon and Cornwall with Tony Crompton from May 9th to May 13th. He is an excellent tour guide/driver. Tony is a charming gentleman who had a deep understanding of the areas that he was showing us. He seemed to know all of the back ways to get us from one destination to another. He made a point of walking us from the coach to the major attraction which Im sure had much to do with ensuring none of us got run over by looking the wrong direction when we crossed the road. He made the tour extra special.

What a Great Trip

We just finished a great 5 day tour of England visiting places in Devon and Cornwall. Our tour guide Kevin was great getting us to our destinations, educating us about our surroundings, and entertaining us with stories and insights. Kevin ensured that we knew what our options were and how to maximize our time. We visited Winchester,Stonehenge,Dartmoor Landscape, Tavistock, Exeter, Boscastle, Tintagel Castle,St.Michaels Mount, a Tin Mine, Lands End, St. Ives, Launceston, and Glastonbury. Our 2 night accommodations at Exeter at Jury’s Inn and Falmouth at The Grove, were excellent. The entire trip was a great experience.

My review on this 5 day Tour in Devon Cornwall

Evelyne Posted on 21/06/2016

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour and very much appreciated our guide Kevin. I normally do not go for tours as I do not enjoy being held by rigid timetables and part of a huge group. But there it was different as it was a small group and there was a certain amount of freedom. It is an experience which I will with pleasure renew once again and I would very much like to recommend it. Certainly I will do it with all my friends and close family. Once again, our guide Kevin was very good and experienced. Even if the weather was not really very nice, it was a very easy going tour and I believe all participants enjoyed themselves. Certainly I did and the scenery was spectacular.

Where does this tour stay overnight?

You stay two nights in the historic Roman city of Exeter and two nights in the Cornish coastal town of Falmouth.

Due to availability, we may not be able to reserve your first choice of accommodation. When this happens we’ll book your second choice, and If there are any further issues we’ll contact you.

What are the accommodation types and what do they cost?

I have more questions, who can help me?

If you have any more questions, feel free to call us on +44(0)131 226 3133, or email rooms@rabbies.com.

Do you offer hotel pickups in the departure cities?

The UK and Ireland's historic city centres are full of narrow streets and winding roads. So, to speed up your departure, we only pick up from our central meeting points. What's more is leaving the city using the most direct route also reduces the carbon footprint of our tours.

Is there parking close to the departure point?

We don't recommend bringing your car into the centre of our departure cities. It can be hard to find parking, and there are excellent public transportation services.

When should I get to the departure point?

Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time. Due to waiting restrictions, we can't wait for you if you're late.

What happens if I'm late or miss the tour?

If you're late for your tour, our cancellation policy applies.

What are your cancellation policies?

We have a cancellation period of 48 hours for our one day tours, 15 days for two to nine day tours, and 21 days for 10+ day tours. If cancelled outside this period, we'll give you a full refund minus a 10% admin charge. If you cancel inside this period, refunds are at our discretion. Click here to view full terms and conditions.

What is a guaranteed departure?

It's simple: you book, you go. This means we'll never cancel your tour because of a minimum numbers policy.

Can I pre-book a specific seat?

Due to logistical reasons, we're unable to let you pre-book a seat on the bus. But our comfortable 16-seat mini-coaches have huge windows. So, you'll always get a good view.

Are there toilets on the bus?

Unfortunately, we have no on-board toilet facilities, but you'll have regular comfort breaks.

How do you cater for people with accessibility needs?

We aim to accommodate everyone. To read more information on how we do this, click here to go to our accessibility guide.

Do you take children on your tours?

We regret we don't carry children under the age of five on our scheduled tours.

You can ask us about the tours we recommend for younger children. And if your child is less than 1.35m tall, you should let us know, so we can provide them with a suitable booster seat.

How much time do I get off the bus?

We want you to enjoy Britain and Ireland. And we believe the best way to do this is to get you off the mini-coach and out exploring. So, we give you plenty of time to take photos, go walking, and explore ancient ruins.

Why do you exclude visitor attractions?

We exclude visitor attractions in your tour price because it lets you travel your way. It means you can pamper yourself with a luxury lunch or skip an attraction whenever you feel like it.

Do we need to bring our own lunch?

You don't need to. We stop in small towns, villages, and rural eateries where you can choose whatever meal pleases both your taste buds and your budget.

Should I tip the driver-guide?

Let's be honest, our driver-guides would never refuse a cheeky bonus. But it's up to you, and the amount is entirely at your discretion.

What about travel insurance?

We advise you take out travel insurance.

What is ABTOT?

You're protected by ABTOT when you chose to let us reserve your accommodation on a multi-day tour. This means you can claim back anything you've paid us if we become bankrupt. Read our terms and conditions for more information.
