Specialist operator of small group tours and experiences, Rabbie’s Trail Burners has received Europeanwide recognition, named an ‘Outstanding Example’ of a Sustainable and Responsible Tour Operator‘, in the internationally respected VESTAS (Vision European Sustainable Tourism Awards). Promoting good practice throughout the industry, the VESTA judges distinguished Rabbie’s Trail Burners as the only tour operator in the final stages of the award process to receive the ‘Outstanding Example’ accolade, awarded to the top 12 ‘best of the best’ of the original 95 nominations.
Organised by hospitality recruitment specialist Caterer.com, the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards Scotland aim to promote excellence in Scottish hospitality and recognise employers committed to providing an environment where talent can flourish and develop. All nominees were voted for exclusively by over 1,000 employees working in the Scottish hospitality sector, resulting in a ranking of the top 25 employers in Scotland.
Rabbie's Trail Burners are proud recipients of the "Big Tick" Bank of America Merrill Lynch Climate Change Award for developing a KPI to drive both carbon reduction and business profitability, recognising best practice from companies around the world.
Rabbie's Trail Burners were presented with Scottish Business in the Community's Award for SME of the year by Prince Charles. Scottish Business in the Community is one of the Prince's Charities in Scotland, supporting and challenging private sector members to improve their impacts in the workplace, marketplace, community and environment.
We were very proud to receive 2 Thistles this year and the judges said "Everyone at Rabbie’s Trail Burners is a passionate ambassador for Scotland, and the team is so confident in the visitor experience offered by the company that in 2009 a no-quibble guarantee was introduced."

Rabbie's Trail Burners were presented with the Vibes Award in recognition of their commitment to helping the environment and for being among the most environmentally friendly businesses in Scotland.
We were honoured with another great award in the large tourism business category. The judges said "The Rabbie’s Promise to customers is to deliver a unique and memorable experience of Scotland. The promise is consolidated through the company’s passion for its staff and their development..."
We were announced Scottish Thistle winners of the inaugural Sustainable Tourism award at a glittering gala dinner on 26th October 2007 held at Edinburgh's International Conference Centre in front of 850 people.
We are Edinburgh's very first tour company to achieve this award in recognition of our high standards of care to you. We are now the only 5 Star tour company to guarantee you a small group experience with a maximum of 16 passengers because we believe the personal touch is best.

Another environmental excellence award this time awarded for what we do in and around our Edinburgh headquarters. For example in May 2007 all the staff got together to clear out debris from a stretch of the local river - the Water of Leith - leaving it better for the residents of the city.
