Day 1 Depart Edinburgh at 09.00 and travel west passing Linlithgow Palace and Stirling with its imposing castle and views of the Wallace Monument. You pass Doune Castle, set of Monty Python's "Holy Grail" before stopping in Callander for refreshments. Crossing into the Highlands you head north towards the glorious scenery surrounding Loch Luibnaig then through Breadalbane (meaning the ‘high country of Scotland’) and up to the wild desolation of Rannoch Moor. You continue through the spectacular mountain pass of Glencoe, scene of the great massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692. Leaving Fort William after lunch you drive past Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, and into the Great Glen. Travelling west on the "Road to the Isles" you head through the splendour of the Five Sisters of Kintail, the mountains guarding the pass on the way to the Isle of Skye. You stop to visit the famous Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed castles, set at the junction of 3 lochs and completely surrounded by water. Crossing over the bridge to Skye, you follow the dramatic coastline north towards the island’s capital, Portree. You are then dropped off at your accommodation in the early evening where you are free to go out and explore the town.
Day 2 is a very flexible day on Skye. There are many possibilities depending on the weather and your driver/guide's knowledge will come to the fore in developing the best day out for you on that particular day. North of Portree is the Trotternish ridge with its spectacular cliffs and rock formations, such as the famous landmark – the Old Man of Storr, the impressive sea cliff, Kilt Rock and the stunning mountain pass of the Quiraing. Amazing natural scenery, which is best enjoyed away from the bus by taking a walk through this unique landscape. Further west the scenery changes again with the emerald green valley of Glendale, the dramatic sea-cliffs of Neist Point (the most westerly point on the island, where you might get lucky and spot some whales or sharks!), and the 13th-century home of the Clan Macleod, Dunvegan Castle. You return to Portree in the evening.
Day 3 You will be collected from your accommodation and travel south through the Cuillin Hills and back over to the mainland for stunning views over Loch Duich and the 5 Sisters of Kintail. Onto Loch Ness for lunch and the possibility of spotting "Nessie". There is a boat trip (Summer only) available here that will get you that bit closer! Heading south now through the Grampian mountains along Loch Laggan, famous now as "Monarch of the Glen Country" before passing Dalwhinnie, home to Scotland's highest whisky Distillery, and onwards past Blair Castle stopping for refreshments before heading back to Edinburgh past Perth and over the Forth Road Bridge. Arriving at 19.00 approx.

A memorable trip up to the Isle of Skye. One of the places we really wanted to see, and this tour didn't disappoint. The tour company was very helpful in booking the trip with friendly people at the booking desk explaining the trips and our exceptional tour guide/driver Ewan! We really enjoyed Ewan, his stories, his humour, and his knowledge of Scottish history! He played some awesome music, told some stories that we will never forget and gave us a taste of the highlands very hands on, or should we say wet feet on, many stops and hikes, and photo opportunities. We have many memories that will very much include a few of Ewan's phrases and his insistence that driving our bus load of tourists around for three days was "Nae Bother!" Our first trip to Scotland was enhanced by a great tour company with an exceptional guide! Thanks Ewan, and Rabbie tours!

What a fantastic time with had with Neil C to the Isle of Skye. We were delightfully entertained by Neil with his knowledge and story telling all while taking in the beautiful scenic vistas of the highlands. Honestly it was just perfect. I would recommend it to everyone!. Thanks Neil.

The tour was really transformed into a little jewel by Euan Hunter our Driver , who happened to be an exceptional Scottish fairy tales teller. Along the road, the magnificent Scottish landscapes and castles described in the Rabbies program were one after the other integrated into their own tales . A full and pleasant historical survey (starting B.C.) of the different wars and fights between the Romans, England, France and Scotland , the Clans, … was narrated (often with humour) and was alternated with Scottish folk music . The frequent stops allowed us to take pictures of breathless sceneries : mountains, falls, lochs and all aspects of natural life. Although not recommended for Birders, I could take many pictures of local bird species in exceptional places like Neist point . On Skye, the tour picked us up at our hotel the “Cuillin Hills” , the best sea and mountain view in Portree. The weather was 90% blue sky with white clouds , 5% rain & 5% snow , just enough to decorate the mountains, the fairies were with us ! The travellers were from all over the world , the only regret we had was not to have enough time to better know each other and become friends. Jean-Claude & Jeanine Jamoulle

Last year in September accidentally ended up with Rabbies. The two-day tour with Mac (Loch Ness & Inverness Highland 2 Day Tour) is (still) great. So that moreish. This time the Isle of Skye & the Highlands 3 Day Tour. With Ewan (not Uri ....!!) And another great tour, with stories, music, snow, rain, wind, blue sky and sun. My sister also came along this time, the first time together on "holiday". I'll be back. Thx very much.

My sister and I had a wonderful experience on this tour. Our driver/guide was Stewart and he was engaging, enthusiastic and a most cheery fellow! I wanted to get a photo of a 'Hei'land Coo'.... Stewart made sure I got one!!

Just been on the 3-day Tour to the Isle of Skye and the Scottish Highlands (April 9 – 11) with James (or should it be Seumas?) as our tour leader, driver, advisor and raconteur. It was an unforgettable and cherished experience and not just for the mesmerizing scenery throughout the trip. James kept us all entertained with his very informative commentary on every place we visited and its link with Scottish history. He sprinkled all this with enchanting legends of monsters, broonies and giants told in this inimitable style. Thank you James! If you’re ever coming our way to Malta drop us an email – Louis & Mariella Schembri

A quick post to thank Rabbies and particularly our driver Ewan for three highly entertaining days in the highlands/Skye. Being shown around by such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide really made the locations come to life. Would recommend to anyone.

I have to say, I didn't expect this tour to be so exciting and informative. It was our anniversary and I couldn't think of a better way of spending it. Met some really nice people and our tour guide James was absolutely amazing, kept us entertained throughout the trip. I really enjoyed the stories and the sites, not to mention the music. Was a brilliant experience and would definitely reccomend Rabbies to anyone who is thinking of going to Scotland. So thank you Rabbies and a special thank you to James for making our anniversary so special.

Rabbies Tours are the best. This was my 5th visit to Scotland in Nov 201 I. I only discovered Rabbies on this visit !!!! Well I wont use any other tour company ever. With guaranteed departures one can plan ones holiday properly. Rabbies are so well organised. The Tour guides are so professional and friendly and have a great passion for their work. The Isle of Skye 3 day tour with Ross was fantastic. Michael was also an excellent tour guide on the one day tours. Rabbies can be proud of having such professional tour guides and providing such excellent service. Thanks so much and keep up the good work. Greetings from South Africa.

Hello from back in Australia. Had a great Isle of Skye Tour with Eddie - his local knowledge is second to none! What a beautiful country! Every corner we turned presented another photo just waiting to happen. Trevor Wynniat, Mount Gambier, South Australia.

Thank you Barney for an absolutely unforgettable tour of Skye and the Highlands. You really went the extra mile (pardon the pun) to cater for all our particular interests and even managed to turn on some spectacular autumn weather! I couldn't recommend this tour enough for anyone considering it.

Thankyou Helen for taking us to a place I heard of once in a lullaby. Helen really did take us somewhere over the rainbow and made this journey memorable and magical in so many way. I don't think we're in Kanas anymore Toto.

It was all brilliant but Neal was a particularly knowledgable & entertaining guide & a great story teller.

Overall a great tour! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiatic, I learned a lot about the places and history we visited.

The small group was great. Gave us a lot of freedom. Also really enjoyed not doing all the touristy stops, but getting a more local feel on the tour (tour guides favourite spots, local B&B. local restaurant/bathroom stops)

Small group, great guide, made seeing the Highlands easy and very enjoyable!

Doug is an excellent driver guide. He made the tour wonderful. He is well versed with the geography/history of scotland and kept us involved throughout the tour.

Euan was absolutely amazing! He was full of knowledge and really made our trip fantastic. I can't say enough about his level of customer service. It is unlike anything I received in the past or expected. He really was the reason our trip was as good as it was.

Mac is an extremely nice and friendly guide. He is very knowledgable about history and the attractions. His story-telling is particularly enjoyable. Excellent job!

I was limited with time so chose the three day tour and was very impressed. In 3 days we covered a huge distance so i was able to see quite a bit of the country. Scenery was beautiful even with bad weather. Ross was a fantastic tour guide and made the trip even better. Very friendly and I loved all the stops along the way and the opportunities to take photos.
Posted by Aleece Edmunds on 23/11/2011
Ross was an excellent guide. when the weather turned foul, he worked very hard to find interesting sights for us to see on the Isle of Skye. His interest in finding good photo spots was fantastic.
Posted by Kyle Graves on 18/11/2011
The most enjoyable part was having Euan Hunter as our driver guide. We were able to experience scotland to the fullest with his help and friendliness. He was able to answer 90% of our enquiries from history to geographical question. He was able to chat about almost anything, making the trip very cosy and it feels like i am going on a trip with friends and not strangers. I would definitely join Rabbies tour again and if i can, i would join his tour.
