5 Days 4 Islands - Scotland At Its Best!! Enjoy the magic, ancient history and the undisturbed tranquillity of the islands of Mull, Iona and Staffa and the romantic beauty of the Isle of Skye.
Day 1 takes you north past Stirling castle, and then west to Scotland's first National Park around Loch Lomond, and the bonny banks". You will travel through the impressive mountains of the West Highlands through the magnificent white-washed 18th Century town of Inveraray, home to the Campbell Clan and the Duke of Argyll. The afternoon will be spent in the heart of Argyll exploring the area close to the ancient Kingdom of Dalriada before arriving in bustling town of Oban, the gateway to the islands, for your 2 night stay.
Day 2 is an early start crossing on the ferry to Mull and enjoying an island adventure exploring her dramatic coastlines and wild beauty, before taking the small ferry to the peace and tranquillity of Iona - birthplace of Celtic Christianity and ancient burial ground of Scottish Kings. Here you can visit the historic abbey with its intricate carved crosses in the churchyard or explore the rocky headlands and sandy coves of this island gem. There is also an opportunity to take a small boat out to the island of Staffa (except Saturday departures in September) and view the dramatic basalt columns immortalised by Mendelssohn in his Hebridean Overture "Fingal's Cave". You then return on the ferry to Oban for your second night.
Day 3 takes you north along the west coast around Appin, passing the impregnable Castle Stalker, and Glencoe, scene of the infamous massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692. You then pass through Fort William and take the historic road to the Isles to catch the ferry to Skye. You will travel through Glenfinnan, at the head of Loch Shiel, this is where the standard was raised to start the Jacobite rebellion. Glenfinnan is also home to a 100year old viaduct, which was made famous when the Hogwarts Express steamed across it on the way to school in the Harry Potter film. From Glenfinnan the road crosses mountains and glens before reaching Arisaig and on through a spectacularly scenic stretch of coast with fantastic views of the islands of Rum, Eigg, Muck and Skye, This beautiful coastline is formed by a series of white beaches and a turquoise sea, known as the white sands of Morar. The road ends at Mallaig where you take the short ferry crossing ‘over the sea to Skye’ where you arrive on the Sleat Peninsula, commonly referred to the ‘Garden of Skye’ with great views of the Cuillin mountains. From here you travel north to the picturesque harbour town of Portree. You are then dropped off at your accommodation in the early evening.
Day 4 is a very flexible day on Skye. There are many possibilities depending on the weather and your driver/guide's knowledge will come to the fore in developing the best day out for you. For example you might travel north to the stunning Quiraing mountain pass and enjoy a spectacular walk through some of Skye's extraordinary geological scenery or visit the Kilt Rock, composed of basalt columns (reminiscent of the pleats in a kilt) with its waterfall cascading over the cliffs and down into the sea below. After lunch you can travel to Neist Point for a walk out to the lighthouse at the most westerly point on Skye. Alternatively a visit to Dunvegan Castle, ancient ancestral seat of the Clan McLeod, may be possible. Talisker Distillery is also on Skye, as are the famous Cuillin Hills. We return you to your accommodation in Portree in the late afternoon for you to enjoy a free evening in the village.
Day 5 You will be collected from your accommodation and travel south through the Cuillin Hills and back over to the mainland. You stop to visit the famous stronghold Eilean Donan Castle, used in the film "Highlander", set at the junction of 3 lochs as protection against Viking raiders, before travelling east where you will take in the stunning views over Loch Duich and the 5 Sisters of Kintail. Onto Loch Ness for lunch and the possibility of spotting "Nessie". Heading south now through the Grampian mountains along Loch Laggan, made famous now as "Monarch of the Glen Country" before passing Dalwhinnie, home to Scotland's highest whisky Distillery, and onwards into Perthshire where we stop for refreshments before heading back to Edinburgh past Perth and over the Forth Road Bridge. Arriving at 19.00 approx.

Audrey was incredible, the best tour guide I've ever had. We never had a dull moment, she always kept things interesting but without it being too fast paced, it was perfect. Every stop we made was enjoyable, with a good variety. Audrey told us the best stories about everywhere we went, she was fun and friendly and definitely kept us entertained and made things very easy on all of us the entire tour.

My husband and I took this tour in September 2012 and loved every minute. Our driver was Audrey and she did an excellent job, always pleasant and helpful and a great story teller!

My daughter, Deanne, and I did this tour, Suu's last for the season with 12 others and we had the greatest time. Suu is without peer. She gathered us into her heart and showed us HER heelands, complete with "heeland coo's", in a riotous adventure of sights, experiences, music and the best "true" stories of all time. Thanx to the other members of the gang and a huge "goodonya" to Suu. I may never be the same!! Ian Dawson. (Australia.)

Thank you to Suu, our wonderful, amazing, passionate, fun, free-spirited, great story-telling, adventurous, and all around perfect guide. Suu made the tour the best it could be. She went above and beyond all expectations. She took us to all kinds of amazing sites, told hilarious stories, played fun and beautiful music, and constantly made us laugh. Suu's love and passion for Scotland came through in everything she did. I would recommend her 1000% to anyone. If you ever are lucky enough to travel with Suu, you will have wonderful memories to last you a lifetime. This was my second time to Scotland and I am more in love with the country than ever. I look forward to coming back again and hopefully will have the opportunity to travel with Rabbie's again. Thanks for everything Suu! And thanks to the rest of the great tour group for such a fun week on Iona, Mull, Skye, and in the highlands! Best wishes, Kim

Dear Sue I was booked to go on the 2 day tour to Inverness but cancelled it and returned south a couple of days early. I felt very tired and just decided to stay put in Edinburgh. I was meeting up with friends anyway and the extra days in Inverness I think would have rather clouded what was really a wonderful 5 day experience. Thank you so much Sue for being such a great driver, tour guide, story teller and for being so helpful to me. You really made the trip for me. You really are fabulous. With love Martin

This was the most fun we have ever had on Holiday. Audry made the trip with her upbeat and fun story telling. Can't wait till next year, already planning a return trip!

The time spent on Iona and Mull was the most enjoyable part of a very enjoyable tour.
Posted by Luisa Ferrari on 23/09/2012
limiting the numbers is a good idea as everyone gets to know each other a little so it felt very relaxing. Also not too much time spent getting on/off the bus. Audrey was a great guide, very friendly, helpful and caring - and very funny in places :)

I did the 13 day Scottish Highlights tour which in actual fact was 3 tours merged into 1. My 1st being the Whiskey tour in Islay with our tour guide Pete. He was the subject matter expert. My tour companions were fantastic and funnily were all Doctors apart from myself and one of the Wives. They were highly amused of my antics of mixing whiskey and coke. We had a ball though. My 2nd and favorite part of the tour was in Skye. My ancestors home. I managed to get a photo in Glencoe of the no Campbells sign for a house mate I live with back home who happens to go by that name. Suu was the tour guide and I can only describe her as a patron saint of Scotland. Her knowledge, passion and story telling were 2nd to none and she really made us feel like we were touring back in the day of the clans. My last tour which a lot of the Skye tour members traveled on as well which was good was the Orkney Islands. Our tour guide was very intelligent and had an outstanding amount of knowledge on past and current day events in Scotland. I did not realise why or how so many people share common names and why and were it stemmed from until this trip. Having known before I started this tour that I would be one of the if not youngest members on the tour I had know idea how I would enjoy it especially traveling by myself. With that said the people I met and the tour guides them selves really made my holidays very enjoyable and it will be a trip I will never forget and cherish forever. Thank you team members and Rabbies for my incredible holiday!!! In true Rabbies spirit I wrote a poem of my trip. I have composed it into a photo so I hope you can all read it clearly enough.

We were blessed with 5 days of SUNSHINE on our tour in Scotland. We had a FANTASTIC time with a GREAT tour guide SUE. Her dedication and passion to make the tour enjoyable and to show us all that was possible was admirable. Her knowledge of the area and history was amazing. Thanks Sue, Ray and Elize

Jo and I had our memorable adventure in Scotland enhanced by our wonderful tour guide Suu, just brilliant fun with a good amount of history and folklore , plus a wee drop of the local music as we went.I will attach a happy snap of the wonderful group we had the pleasure of traveling with.

Hi everyone, I'd just like to say that the Iona, Mull, and Skye tour which I took on 23rd July 2012 was fantastic! Suu was a wonderful guide too, and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience! I didn't quite catch the email addresses of everyone on the tour, so I'll try uploading photos of two of the gentlemen whose email addresses I didn't get... Thanks Rabbies, and see you next time!
Posted by Chris M on 19/08/2012
What a wonderful holiday full of variety - ruined castles, hairy kuhs, PUFFINS, distilleries, picnics and stories (all true!), Runrig etc, etc. Just fabulous. Thank you to Suu who truly gave us "the time of our lives".
Posted by Louise Nicolle on 14/08/2012
We took the Iona and Isle of Skye tour on June 25. Even though it's been over a month we still talk about the trip everyday. From the moment we got on the bus and met Audrey we knew it would be a great trip. We had not been on a tour as I hate the "nose to tail" feeling of being in a crowd. Not to worry with Rabbies. Our small group of 7 clicked from the first stop when we spontaneously got tea together. The weather tried not to cooperate but Audrey kept us entertained and we missed as much rain as possible. The Highlands are an amazing experience, one I have wanted to have for many years. They are truly amazing and the Highland people are truly friendly. Audrey has an extensive knowledge and love for her country and it showed. Her stories of history, places and people were amazing. The accomodations we were in were also beautiful. We would take this tour again in a heartbeat. Thank you Audrey and Rabbies for giving us memories that will last a lifetime.

In early July, I was on this tour. Like the thistle I was touched (but in a soft way) by all that the Highlands have to offer--Innate beauty, richness of history & the warm people!. I believe what made it extra enjoyable was our guide--Ewan. His knowledge and passion for Scotland made the tour feel like a mobile history class on wheels. His recall of an area and period created a ‘real time’ tapestry of the land. In between his story telling he played from his collection of older Celtic, contemporary Scottish, Rock n Roll and Classic songs for us to relax OR told tales with his accents to have us laugh. One final bit, Ewan knew when we needed to meander slightly longer in place we were enjoying. So, I never felt rushed or hurried ONLY at eased because I was able to stay in the moment of "being" in the Highlands. NOTE to fellow passengers: Bring a journal to write down your feelings/insights and also to remember where you were or facts about the places NOTE to Rabbies: Think about creating an audio of the tour guides' commentary. It would be such a great accompaniment to the photo album I plan to create. Thanks again for running such a wonderful a tour!! ~Debs

Small group is very good and Audrey is just amazing!! She made this trip perfect. I enjoy traveling with her a lot.

It was the second time I’ve done another tour with Rabbie’s in Scotland. On my first trip to Scotland we went up to the Highlands Orkney and the far North. From Edinburgh to Inverness. Inverness to the Orkney’s. Down to Ullapool and back to Edinburgh. On this long journey, I have seen many many exciting tings and our Guide George was absolutely fantastic. Now, my second time in Scotland was also nice. We visit Oban, Mull and one of the groups Iona. After Oban, the Isle of Skye. And I can say, the tour was absolutely perfect and we had so much fun. Well, George was our Guide again and he knows a lot of the history of Scotland (but no Love stories). Thank you George for a fantastic time with you again. It won’t be the last time in Scotland for me.

Audrey and the group were great. Audrey is such a friendly and concernd person and a great driver. Beside that it´s great to get to know people from all over the world! The best part of the journey were to visit Staffa, the lighthouse on Skye and the views on Skye.

Ross was a terrific guide. The fact that he is a serious photographer enhanced the tour by providing the best photo opportunities.
Posted by donna goodman on 31/05/2012
It really was the whole package - small bus, able to be flexible and go off the main roads, Suu and her commentary was marvellous and ensured we all had the most delightful holiday
Posted by Michael Payne on 31/05/2012
I enjoyed the frequent stops for photos and the high country and fantastic knowledge and passion of Ross for the same. Loved Staffa
Posted by Anne Purves on 18/05/2012
My sister Janet and I did this tour in August 2010, Unforetunately this was Janet's last trip back to Scotland passing away from Lung Cancer a year ago today. I have so many memories that this tour gave me, but the best of all is knowing that Suu and her music have now played a big part in my live with Runrig being played continually full bore. Thanks for the memories
Posted by Ellen Taylor on 16/05/2012
My main reason for going on the Iona, Mull, and Skye tour was to see Staffa, and it didn't disappoint! Really cool place, both inside the caves and on top. The weather was great, and made for a lovely boat ride. What I didn't realize til I got there, though, was how beautiful Mull is as well - glens and mountains and waterways galore! Skye was wonderful as always, as was Oban. This was my second tour with Michael, who proved again that he's a great guide - full of great information, gives a thoughtful and balanced view of Scottish history, and is just a really nice guy. Thanks to Michael and Rabbies!
Posted by Susan Goodfellow on 13/05/2012
Every part was enjoyable. Mull was for me unexpectedly beautiful: it has a stunning scenery and breathtaking barren mountains (the coastal scenic route is amazing!).

Richard our driver was fantastic. The trip to Iona was the best part of the trip, lots of history and the beaches were beautiful
Posted by Kim Christie on 19/08/2011
