As the only driver in my household, I really enjoyed not having to drive, and to be able to take in the beauty of the scenery whilst being entertained by Bob. He was friendly and engaging but not overly intrusive, just the ticket!

The tour guide was brilliant. A very nice man, extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He was also a very safe driver, very clear about what we could expect. Was available for questions, and displayed a passion and thorough knowledge of Scottish history that just made me want to listen to every word. He truly made the experience memorable.

Duncan was a delight. Very entertaining but low key. \knowledgable, interesting, and funny. I've already told a number of people to be sure to take Rabbie's tours

I thoroughly enjoyed this excellent tour, led by the excellent tour guide Al, who was fun and full of information. The tour began with a drive through the very picturesque Scottish Borders to the first stop in Melrose. Here we visited the ruins of the once great Abbey and also the gravestone where Robert the Bruce’s heart is buried. Soon after leaving the pretty town of Melrose we arrived at the Scotland/England border, which we crossed on foot, walking over the River Tweed Coldstream Bridge (erected 1763-1766). Al then made a special trip, at my request, to visit the Flodden Battlefield and memorial to the thousands who died on 9th September 1513. The next visit was to Alnwick, where we had several hours to have lunch and visit themagnificent Norman Castle, stately home and filming site of 2 Harry Potter movies. On the way back to Edinburgh we made a short stop in Berwick and then in Dunbar to see the ruins of the Castle which has connections to Mary Queen of Scots. Overall this is an excellent tour for those who love Scottish history, Castles and beautiful countryside.

Living in Edinburgh I've travelled to all the locations covered in the tour and fancied being ferried for a change. I was particularly looking forward to being fed the history and local colour that, as a native, you can sometimes lose in the distant sands of time. I wasn't disappointed. Euan was a knowledgeable, friendly and amusing; exactly what I'd been hoping for.

Highly recommendable day trip - especially with such a competent tour guide as ours: Eric, the Bloodaxe of Viking origins :)) - I did the trip together with my daughers (16 and almost 14) and we all thoroughly enjoyed each stop, the fantastic landscape as well as Eric's singing talent!

A day spent in the Borderlands of Scotland and England. Our tour follows the ancient Roman Dere Street that connected Scottish Caledonia with Roman Britannia through the Scottish Borders.

Stopping at Melrose, home to the remains of the Cistercian Abbey and the burial place of the heart of Scottish King Robert the Bruce who lived and fought in the area that we are travelling through today.

Continuing South we cross the border and travel onto imposing Alnwick Castle, one of the great castles of
Northumberland that has stood for nearly a millenium. Originally built to protect the north of England from Scottish border reivers and invaders, more recently Alnwick Castle and its perfectly manicured gardens have found fame as one of the settings for the fictional Hogwarts school in the Harry Potter movie series.

After almost 3 hours to explore Alnwick Castle we head towards the ancient gateway town of Berwick Upon Tweed, a strategic walled town at the estuary of the River Tweed, that has swung between Scottish and English control over many centuries.

There is time to explore the city walls or visit the Georgian army barracks before returning to Edinburgh along the rugged coast of Berwickshire and East Lothian.
