Cinq jours pour explorer l’extrémité sud-ouest de l’Angleterre. Pays de légendes arthuriennes, de royaumes celtes, de villes romaines, de belles plages, de landes sauvages peuplées de bêtes mythiques, de cathédrales romanes et de jardins extraordinaires.
Passez deux nuits à Exeter, ville historique et romaine, et deux nuits dans la ville universitaire de Falmouth ,sur la côte de Cournouailles.

Jour 1 Abandonnez l’agitation de Londres et plongez dans le passé à Stonehenge ,site néolithique, profitez d’une après-midi agréable sur la côte jurassique du Devon, faites une pause à Durdle Door et passez deux nuits dans la ville romaine d’Exeter.
Jour 2 Explorez les landes sauvages de Dartmoor et son ancien “Clapper Bridge” à Postbridge. Prenez le temps de visiter la ville maraîchère de Tavistock, où naquit Sir Francis Drake, et passez l’après-midi à explorer la ville romaine d’Exeter, sa cathédrale, ses anciennes murailles et son port.
Jour 3 Suivez le Roi Arthur pas à pas et explorez la lande de Bodmin, où l’on trouve des poneys sauvages, le dernier lieu où repose Excalibur , et les pierres préhistoriques qui s’appellent “the Hurlers” et “The Cheesewring”. D’autres points forts sont les Chutes de Golitha et le romantique Château de Tintagel, où naquit le Roi Arthur. Vous prendrez ensuite la route du sud pour passer les deux nuits suivantes à Falmouth, ville universitaire et côtière.
Jour 4 Explorez l’extrémité occidentale de l’Angleterre, avec le Mont Saint Michel, Mousehole, un spectaculaire village perché sur la falaise, l’incroyable théâtre Minack, les plages qui sont aux alentours de Land’s End et une visite à St Ives, petite ville située sur cette impressionante côte occidentale.
Jour 5 Pour rentrer à Londres, vous traverserez les beaux paysages de Cornouailles et du Devon en passant par Glastonbury qui possède d’anciennes connections mythiques avec le Roi Arthur.

Day 1 Depart London and travel out through the old kingdom of Wessex to the most famous Neolithic standing stone circle of Stonehenge. Having explored this mystical place, your tour will continue to the dramatic Dorset Coast enjoying panoramic views over white sandy beaches and the natural rock arch of Durdle Door. An afternoon here to explore some of the coast before arriving at the historic city of Exeter, Rome’s most south westerly fortified settlement, your base for 2 nights.
Day 2 Your morning is spent exploring the magnificent wilderness of Dartmoor, the ancient "Clapper Bridge" at Postbridge and the historic market town of Tavistock, home to Francis Drake. Return to Exeter in the early afternoon to explore this Roman town, with its underground passages, ancient walls, Royal Albert Memorial museum and its famous 12th century Norman Cathedral. Your second night is spent here.
Day 3 Travel west into the heart of Arthurian legend country and the Celtic kingdom of Cornwall. The day’s highlights include the ancient capital of Cornwall, Launceston with its 12th century Norman keep perched overlooking Bodmin moor and Bodmin moor itself with the wild ponies wandering amongst the pre-historic stones called the Hurlers and the Cheesewring. Legends of piskies and spriggins abound and the resting place of King Arthur’s sword Excalibur in Dozmary pool all combine with mythical tales of the Beast of Bodmin to make this a very special place. Continue to the west coast and the romantic Tintagel Castle, birthplace of King Arthur, before travelling south to the seaside University town of Falmouth for 2 nights.
Day 4 Explore the most westerly tip of England on this magnificent day taking in St. Michael’s mount, the stunning cliff top village of Mousehole, the incredible Minack theatre built into the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful National Trust beach at Porthcurno. You may even see some pirates at Penzance! England’s most westerly point beckons at Lands End before following the dramatic coast, with windswept moors and old stone Celtic communities up to the artistic haven of St. Ives. Returning to Falmouth for the night.
Day 5 This morning you say farewell to Cornwall and travel back through the Devon countryside with stops for photos and refreshments before arriving in the famous little town of Glastonbury for lunch. Glastonbury Tor rises high above the town and has mythical connections with King Arthur and Avalon. From here you will return back eastwards to London, a city completely removed from the experiences you have enjoyed in the magical counties of Devon and Cornwall.

Thanks to Kevin for a great experience. Lots of laughs,sights and good food along the way. We had a good group of people. This is a nice way for me, a single traveler to see the UK. I know that Rabbies provides qualified guides and safe,comfortable vehicles. You will not be disappointed!

It turned out we were the 'guinea pig' tour on this 5-day Devon and Cornwall trip. Everything started out very well - even a cake specially baked for us in the shape of a bus with Rabbies on its side! It also turned out that it was a new experience for our driver as a tour bus operator. To cut a long story short, after a very short stop at Stonehenge we never did get to the Jurassic Coast or Durdle Door, and didn't stop for lunch or toilet breaks after Stonehenge. We ended up at the hotel in Exeter a couple of hours before planned after a rather harrowing few hours of no communication from the driver and all of us wondering what we'd signed up for! The next day we had another rough start when the driver couldn't get the bus from the parking lot (not his fault) because of a missing key, so that meant a late start. But after better communication with the driver and letting him know what we expected, things lightened up, he became more relaxed, and the tour turned out to be everything - and more - than I'd hoped for. The driver even made a few stops not on the itinerary to try and make up to us for the disastrous start. The hotel in Exeter (St. Olaves) was wonderful. The hotel some of us stayed at in Falmouth was also really nice, but too far from town and much choice in restaurants, although the restaurant (Ghyllies) we were near was super, a marvellous location on the beach and superb waitstaff. I would definitely travel with Rabbies again but would probably check several details - how experienced the driver, location of hotels, length of time at the different stops.
