Award Winning Small Group Tours

Important Information about your Accommodation on Tour

Your tour does not include accommodation in the price. By giving you a choice of accommodation it allows you to choose your budget, stay in smaller places and get closer to the local people. This also means you help to sustain the communities you visit in the long term. Choose a hotel, B&B or a hostel and we will book it for you.

Typical prices per person per night:
Hostel £15-£20, Guest House B&B £30-£45, Hotels - more.
Based on 2 people sharing (except hostel). Single occupancy will be higher.

The accommodation prices above are for guidance only and we cannot be held responsible for any variation in the cost of accommodation, but we always do our very best to satisfy your personal requirements and have an amazing track record of providing our customers the best value and quality accommodation available. We do advise that single supplements usually apply and at times in peak season double room rates are charged for single occupancy.

Accommodation is dispersed around various towns and villages, rarely more than a 10-15 minute walk from the centre, although on occasions this can be 20-30 minutes. Taxis are available for a small fee if necessary. If you have access needs or specific requirements please let us know when booking. Late bookings and/or peak season may limit the choice and location of available accommodation.

When you go on tour your driver/guide will drop you off at your booked* accommodation and pick you up in the morning so you have no need to worry about shifting luggage or getting lost on tour. It’s a small group tour so we won’t let you get lost in the crowd.

After you’ve stayed at your accommodation you pay for it directly to your host. Cash is preferred amongst smaller B&Bs but don’t worry if you run out. There are plenty of Automatic Cash machines in the places you stay overnight.

We’ve found that this way of touring means you can really get in touch with the locals and your choices can be looked after far more effectively and you can stay in the best and most affordable places.

*Please note that if your accommodation has already been booked by Rabbie’s, as per your initial request, and you change your booking, there will be a charge for amendments. Changes to booked accommodation cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability.

We had booked this tour on 30th Nov 2013. We were pleasantly surprised to find only another couple joining us on the trip. It was like a personalised tour with our very knowledgeable and cordial tour guide, Pete. We loved his anecdotes and the history he shared along the way. The weather was perfect for a day trip and we couldn't ask for more! This was our second tour with Rabbie's - the first one being from Edinburgh to the Scotland Highlands. Both were wonderful and we are hoping we can visit North and South Wales from London sometime soon!

Only 4 people had booked the tour, so it was more of a personalised experience. Pete was an excellent guide...he kept us engaged with the history of the places we visited and with personal anecdotes. We had taken another Rabbie's trip to Scotland Highlanda from Edinburgh earlier. Both the trips were perfect and we will definitely take more tours with Rabbie's if we get a chance!

This is the third Rabbie's tour for me, and it's the second time that Kevin was my guide! How lucky I am! The tour itself is well scheduled, which makes you less tired while visiting many places at the same time. What you cannot miss in such a fabulous tour is a good guide , and that's why you should let Kevin be the one for you! Obviously, after the second tour, we are already good friends right now. He is a charming gentleman and we all love him so much! If you had any trouble with your trip or even your own life, just ask, he would always be there for you~Trust me, you are gonna miss him when you finish your tour~ If you are reading my review, do pick Rabbie's be your choice and do let Kevin be your guide because that is the way you could get an extremely fantastic tour of a lifetime! Love you, Rabbie's! Love you, Kevin!

Seeing the countryside as well as the towns, being a bit off the beaten track at times, not always on the motorway
Posted by Patricia Long on 20/03/2013

How surprised was I when I turned up for my Rabbies tour (recommended to me by my duaghter) to find out I was the only person booked to go. My driver Ambrose told me that it was Rabbies policy to still run the tour even if there was only one participant so off we went!! I had the whole bus, could ask tons of questions, sit up the front and Ambrose and I hit it off immediately. To land in another country on your own is often daunting but not with Ambrose who immediately made me feel at home and was so courteous and knowledgeable. We had a great time touring about and the scenery was breathtaking. The whole time I had my own personal commentary about whatever I needed to know. My B & B experience was also excellent and so much better than I expected. I would definitely book another Rabbies tour and would look for one with Ambrose as he was brilliant!

I was the only participant on my tour but Rabbies as their brochure states still ran the tour! I had a lovely driver called Ambrose who had a wealth of knowledge about everything and was happy to take me wherever I wanted to go. We had our own little holiday really, hit it off well and went along for the ride, literally.

Kevin was very enjoyable and was honest with us about what stops were worth our limited time. His mention of Winston Churchill's birthplace allowed the group to make a great decision to see the palace.

I did the Cotswolds, Bath & Oxford two day tour on 10 October 2012 and just wanted to say what a wonderful tour guide Kevin was - and a safe driver! He catered to every need, very knowledgeable and a great communicator. He is a an asset to Rabbies company. It made for a wonderful trip. Will recommend to all my friends back in Australia.

This is our third Rabbies tour, with one more booked. We have always been pleased with the comfort and fun and knowledgable drivers.

Thank-you Ambrose for a wonderful tour. I appreciated your knowledge of all the areas we visited. I had enough time in each town to really look around. Oxford was magnificent!

Thanks again Owen for a terrific tour. This was our second tour with your company in the 2 weeks we had in London, and we can't speak highly enough about them both! We will definitely recommend your company to anyone we know visiting the UK. What a great time we had!

Day 1
Leaving the great city of London behind us today we head west. We arrive at the pretty village of Avebury. Here we will be able to wander amidst the largest stone circle in the world - part of a World Heritage Site. Nearby is also the site of the Cherhill White Horse, which was cut out of the chalk hillside in 1780. Not far from here, set in rural Wiltshire, is Lacock village, famous for its picturesque streets, historic buildings and its more recent role as a television and film location. The Abbey, located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds, is a quirky country house of various architectural styles. We spend some time in the afternoon in Bath, full of relics of its Roman past and of course its famous Bath. From here we continue to Cirencester, set in the heart of the Cotswolds, which is so quintessentially English. Cirencester was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times!

Day 2
We will discover some more of the Cotswold scenery and villages. You will see some outstanding countryside with river valleys, water meadows and beech woods, sleepy ancient limestone villagesm and historic market towns, famous for being ‘typically English’, where time has stood still for over 300 years.
Our visits will include Bourton-on-the-Water, also known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds. It is a picturesque village with many of the traditional features unique to this area. Next stop will be Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds and packed with charming traditional houses. On route to Oxford we pass through the quaint village of Woodstock. In the afternoon we visit Oxford, renowned for over 900 year as a centre of academic excellence. Discover at your own pace the college courtyards, unspoilt narrow alleys and the historic town square. Harry Potter fans might want to see Christ Church, where many scenes from the films have been shot. The grandeur of the Great Hall has formed the basis of Hogwarts Hall!
Later that day we return to London arriving at approx.7pm.
