Album: Inverness with Angela by Angela (Tour Guide)
Day 1 Depart Edinburgh at 0930 heading west towards Stirling, passing Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. You also pass Doune Castle (set of Monty Python's "Holy Grail") before stopping in the small town of Callander for a refreshment stop. You now cross over the fault line into the magnificent Highlands taking in the splendour of Loch Luibnaig, Loch Earn, Glen Ogle and Glen Dochart, as you travel north over the wild and remote Rannoch Moor into Glencoe. This haunting glen was the scene of a great massacre in 1692 where many of the Clan Macdonald were slaughtered. You stop in this imposing mountain pass and take you for a walk so you can enjoy the spectacular views. You continue north and up the Great Glen to the mysterious beauty of Loch Ness, travelling the whole 23 miles of the famous Loch - plenty of time to try and spot "Nessie!" You arrive at your destination of Inverness at approx 1930 where you will be dropped off at your booked accommodation. The evening is free for you to explore the capital of the Highlands.
Day 2 You will be picked up from your accommodation between 0900 & 0930 in Inverness and head west towards glorious Glen Affric. This is a stunning area where the River Affric flows down through a dramatic gorge, surrounded on all sides by the beautiful Caledonian pine forest (one of the only remaining areas of Caledonian pine in Scotland, this has now been made into a nature reserve). You can spend some time here and enjoy a walk through the forest, alongside the River Affric. From Glen Affric, you go east to Drumnadrochit, stopping for photos of Urquhart Castle with its mighty ruins overlooking Loch Ness. You will spend your lunchtime on the southern shore of the Loch in the charming village of Fort Augustus. The Caledonian Canal, which links the lochs of the Great Glen, dominates the town and makes a great place to relax and watch the boats sail by. You then travel south towards Loch Laggan and into the Cairngorms National Park, a mountainous area of wild land, forests lochs and glens. You continue south past Blair Castle, stopping in the lovely town of Pitlochry before returning to Edinburgh, past Perth and over the Forth Road Bridge. Arrive approx. 19.00.

Katy and I took the 2 day tour to the highlands, Loch Ness and Inverness and it was a memorable experience.
Our guide Karren was very knowledgeable, very friendly and made everything possible to make everyone happy. We thank her for the lovely journey that was one of the best trips of our lives. I can say it was a breadth taking experience...

We just returned from Scotland/Ireland. We took many tours. Without a doubt, Rabbies was the most professional. Excellent service, great tour buses, and our tour guide Roland, was A1. I would tour again with Roland ANYTIME!

Had a fantastic time. Mac took us aroaming up the glens and the canals and lochs. Gave us the history of each place we visited. Had a terrific time in Inverness in the Irish pub and then after in a Scot pub with Terry and his mate. Didn't see Nessie but who has? Spectacular views! Coming back up from the falls was trying but it got good clean air in the lungs. Thanks, Mac, for a tour to remember!

We had a fantastic time on our tour. The scenery was amazing and George, our guide, was the best! His knowledge about the history of the different places we visited and anecdotes as well as enthusiasm made the tour unforgettable!

Hello to the rabbie's team.
Our 2 day tour starting 18th May was phantastic, not only due to the perfect weather and the great places we saw, but mainly due to our very knowledgable tour guide Andrew, who told so many interesting stories about the various historic places in Scotland. In those 2 days I learnt more about Scottish history than in my whole life before. It was not at all boring, but highly fascinating. Andrew should be promoted! Well done, Andrew.

To say a big 'thank you' to everyone at Rabbie's and especially to Richard!
One of the best tours we've ever been to - memories of breathtaking scenery and Scottish hospitality would remain in our hearts for years to come. Richard was able to answer all of our questions, sometimes quite random, on the spot - very knowledgeable and excellent sense of humour (made a lot of difference to the overall inmpression)!

Helen is our tour guid in this trip. She is quite causious about the safety of the tour in the bad weather. She led us to the best part of the tour-Geln coe.It's really amazing to see the spectacular snow scenery of highland. It's really impressive and unforgettable.

On what was a last minute spur of the moment tour organised by my daughter, I have to say, I had the most fantastic time, the scenery was magnificent, our tour guide, Angela, most informative & fun to be with, the guest house accommodation in Inverness & my host, Molly, unbelievable .. can't wait to go back ... well done Rabbie's

Tour was excellent- very informative guide and the scenery was incredible. I'm not usually one to go on an organised tour- preferring to find my own way around but was very impressed with Rabbies and the way the tour was planned. Will definitely be back in Scotland for more adventures soon.

I just wanted to give a huge thanks for Richard for all the wonderful information he passed along. We had the time of our lives and it was like something out of a movie seeing all the countryside, towns and lochs. It was an experience my wife and I will cherish for the rest of our lives. I am a big fan of the way Rabbies carries out their tours. Big thumbs up!!!

I would probably have to write an essay to describe what me and my friend Sandra experienced during this tour,to put it simply it was an amazing experience that simply left us quite depressed when it ended!!!it wasnt just the pure beauty of Scotland with its lochs and castles and the snow covered mountains but also,equally important,the warm welcome of our tourist guide,Derrick.I could never believe that someone could make the history of scotland sound so interesting but also be so knowledgeable about everything,from the fauna and agriculture to the different types of whisky and modern life in scotland mixed with a bit of poetry,you seriously couldnt have had a dull moment during the tour!!!Derrick's knowledge of the area meant that he would take us to places that were not packed with tourists so we had the chance to see the beauty of scotland in its full glory,truly amazing. the accommodation in inverness was probably one of the best i ve experienced of all the places i have been to,we felt truly welcome and we would certianly return back to the same B&B if we were to stay in Inverness.all i can say is a big thank you to Derrick and Rabbies and we will certainly be back next year to travel with Rabbies again!!!

I won't bore with too many details - you have to experience it for yourself but my brother and his fiance asked me to also convey their gratitude to Derrick and Rabbies when giving my review. All three of us had a wonderful time, our guide Derrick was entertaining, engaging and very knowledgable not only about the areas we visted but fauna and flora as well. All that aside he has quite a singing voice as well! Having the map at the front and actually seeing where we were at each stage is brilliant. Simply driving from place to place gives you no real sense of where you actually are - the map gives context. We were lucky with good weather and Derrick's knowledge of little hidaway places meant we weren't always surrounded by throngs of other tourists and often had places to ourselves. The accomodation in Inverness (Morden) was spot on - comfy, clean and nice touches like homemade shortbread. Inverness is lovely, good food etc. As far as advice is concerned - try to spend a day or three in Edinburgh - you'll regret it if you don't - have a good camera as the scenery is breathtaking. Don't expect to eat too cheaply in some of the towns, otherwise pack light and enjoy yourself! Thanks Rabbies - I'll be back.

I joined the 2-day Loch Ness & Inverness to appreciate the majestic Highland region. Tony was the tour guide / driver. He was very nice and diligent in telling us the history of various sites we checked out. Overall a great and pleasant experience for me. I would definitely recommend Rabbie's and join the other tours next time I visit Scotland.

I really liked that Peter was so keen to personalise what he could - he stopped in Callander because my parents had their honeymoon there. It felt more like a friend driving us through the beautiful countryside.

Ross was fantastic in his overall knowledge about Scotland, his passion about his country was very evident and that flowed through to all on the tour. The small group was great. the choice of sights to stop at were great for a two day tour next time I will book for a longer tour as Scotland was our favourite part of our whole trip. Thankyou Ross for sharing your passion and knowledge even though it rained the whole time we enjoyed the tour greatly.

The organization was very good. Peter the driver/guide has a vast knowledge and he is very friendly and caring. He definetly is a perfect guide!

I think that Andrew's knowledge of the history of all the areas we went to was great. He made the places so much more interesting. Loved Glen Affric and the Fallsof Lochhar.
