Departing at 09.30 your tour takes you south to the world famous Scott’s View, with stunning views over the Tweed Valley and the Eildon Hills. You will also get the opportunity to visit the original Wallace Monument.
From here you travel to Melrose with the opportunity to explore its great Border Abbey, founded by the Cistercians in the 12th Century. The Cistercian monks had very close connections with the Knights Templar and Melrose Abbey is the burial place of Robert the Bruce's heart, brought back from the crusades in Moorish Spain.
Following lunch in Melrose you will make your way to the stunning 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, immortalised in Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code” and you can find out more about the myths and legends surrounding the whereabouts of the “Holy Grail”.
IMPORTANT NOTE - from 21st May to the end of June the canopy that has been in place for the last 10 years to protect the roof of Rosslyn Chapel is being removed. This will involve a lot of heavy machinery and will cause some disruption for visitors. There will be no access to the grounds of the chapel and guided tours may be restricted. Also due to ongoing conservation and renovation works, parts of the ceiling inside the chapel are currently obscured by scaffolding. There is still lots to see though and during this period of disruption the entry fee has been reduced.
From here you return to Edinburgh at Approx 16.15.

Had an absolutely fantastic day with our guide Helen. Helen was informative, very funny and gave us some insight into her passion for the border districts. We feel very priviledged to have been on this tour and loved the banter and playfulness! So good, Rabbies is lucky to have you! Hope you enjoy your fried haggis and a few scotches tonight!

We had a wonderful day tour with our amazing guide Andrea (Andi). We could not have asked for a better start to our vacation than a day spent traveling to and exploring Roslyn Chapel. Andi's extensive knowledge and bubbling personality made for a great day. After we listened to the guide at Roslyn Chapel my daughter leaned over and whispered "Andi would have done a better job". Andi - we'll never look at rain the same way again! Thanks!!!

i was a bit disapointed with this tour, couldv left melrose abby out or mayb just a quick visit to point out robert the bruce's heart/stone as thats all we knew about that place and then we couldv had longer at rosslyn chapel as i felt really rushed and didnt get to enjoy the experience for long enough and i think they should advertise that theres alot of work going on there as this spoilt it abit for me, scafolding everywhere...... and althou i didnt mind paying to go in, i think we shouldv had a small dicount because of all the works going on.. and i wouldnt recomend paying to go in2 melrose, just look over the wall and you can see most things.....

Just wanted to say that we did this tour on Sunday 27 September this year with Bob? and was extremely impressed with our driver and the tour. I would definitely recommend Rabbies tours to anyone - great value for money and excellent service and staff. Thanks for a great time

This tour offers the DaVinci Code enthusiast an up-close and personal look at what they have read about or have seen in the movies. We visited Rosslyn Chapel, Melrose Abbey, and several other places and towns. It was a great tour, and our tour guide, Alie, was extremely knowledgable in the history of the area and what we were seeing. He was friendly and polite and would answer any questions thrown at him. Overall, a great day.

Our driver was very knowledgeable, had interesting & funny stories. Enjoyed our lunch. Melrose Abbey & Rosslyn Chapel were beautiful. Some of the most beautiful pictures we got were in the lowlands.

I was the only person on the tour, but was informed of this ahead of time. Since Rabbies guarantees that you go no matter what, I decided to go anyway, and had a really nice private tour!

The weather, which was perfect. The weather made it possible to walk around the Abbey and Rosslyn compound. Our tour guide had a delightful sense of humor and was personable. He was knowledgeable of Scottish history and incorporated stories of interest regarding countryside. Very enjoyable.
