1. Where do the tours leave from?
All our scheduled tours leave from our centre at 207 High St, Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh's old town. You will find us at the No.1 Currency foreign exchange bureau. The local bus service is excellent with frequent buses to the centre of town. Information on routes and timetables can be found at www.lothianbuses.co.uk
2. What should we wear?
Because we believe in time off the bus and give you opportunities to take nature walks, we recommend you bring suitable clothing and footwear (flat shoes) for your tour. Scotland can be a wet place!!
3. Can we leave our extra luggage with you?
Afraid not... there's just about enough space in the office for the staff !!! There are left luggage facilities at Waverley Train Station (2 minutes walk away), but if you are returning to Edinburgh your accommodation provider normally will be happy to keep your luggage for your return.
4. Do you take children on your tours?
Children over 5 are welcome on all our tours. We don't take under fives on our overnight or longer day tours - this is for the sake of the child as much as everyone else. We do carry 3-5 year olds on request only on our short 1 day tours. Please enquire about the tours we recommend for young children so that we can provide them with a booster seat.
5. How far in advance should we book?
We accept reservations right up to the day of departure, but to avoid disappointment, it is always best to book as far in advance as possible.
6. What is your cancellation policy?
Less than 72 hours before the start of your 1 day tour (14 days before extended tours) if we can resell your seat we will give you a refund less a 10% admin charge. Outside these times we will refund less any credit card charges. Click here to view full terms and conditions.
7. Should we tip the driver/guide - and how much?
What can we say - they love it!! The amount is entirely up to you.
8. What will the weather be like?
Typically Scottish. You should expect 4 seasons in one day, but the weather isn't as bad as sometimes imagined - the Atlantic Gulf stream from Mexico makes the climate very temperate.
9. How can I pay?
Payment can be made by either Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Solo, cash, cheque or bank transfer.
10. Are all taxes included in the prices?
Yes - there are no hidden extras.
11. What language are the tours in?
Clear spoken English - of course the Scots speak the clearest English in the world!! We also have detailed tour itineraries and a short history of Scotland translated into Spanish, French, German, Italian, Swedish and Dutch available on all our tours.
12. Should we take out travel insurance?
We highly recommend it and you can find some good rates if you click here......
